Question about Ryobi Garden

1 Answer

OK, on my Ryobi electric chainsaw, the chain tension adjustment rod was bent and couldn't turn. I pulled it out and straightened it, but can't get it back in. Is there a way to put the rod back in?

How do I remove the clutch cover from a Ryobi chainsaw?

There are two nuts that hold the clutch cover and chain bar in place. The same nuts you would loosen to adjust the chain tension. Once those are taken off the cover, bar and chain can be removed.

Does the chain come off when saw is running without cutting? Check chain is not bent? Check bar is not bent? Check chain is tensioned properly?

The chain jumps off all the time no manual supplied with it

There should be a bar adjustment screw or mechanism somewhere under the guardplate where the non-visible end of the chain is. This pushes the bar outward and tensions the chain so it is not slack and comes off.

Ryobi pcn 4040 chain saw

I have the same model chainsaw with the same fault. The brake is not releasing when the brake handle is pulled right back. I can only run mine if the brake handle is pulled back to the main handle with a tyrap - defeats the object of the auto-brake completely. Design fault I reckon.
