My shutter button has stopped working. What do you recommend?

I can get my camera turned on, but when I go to take a picture, the screen goes black. The camera has new batteries, and now, the whole screen is black when I turn it on.

Hi i just put in new batteries and it won't let me take pictures i can see the other pictures and a red rectangle flashes and the camera shuts down any soultions thanks
