SOURCE: hayward pool cleaner wont move

sounds like the turbine or a-frame bearings are bad. A turbine kit with a-frames will be a solution. Also check the pod shoes for wear, should be a good 1/4" or better.

SOURCE: Hayward pool cleaner just goes in circle

If these automatic pool cleaners are moving in circles, it is usually an obstruction in the connection hose. Check the hose to make sure that there are not any knots or kinks that might not be immediately visible. Also, check to make sure that you don't have a partial blockage in either the cord or the throat. You will also want to check the return to make sure it is not allowing too much water to get to the cleaner. You might need to adjust the rear tension flap. Too much tension could cause the cleaner to go in circles. Finally, make sure that the wings and shoes are properly installed.

SOURCE: barrcuda inground pool cleaner flips over

Often when you are having this problem with automatic pool cleaners, it has to do with the hose. Make sure that you have plenty of slack in the hose to cover the entire pool. Also, make sure that you do not have any obstructions in the hose and that it is not tangled.

Make sure that your unifram is installed with the opening in a vertical position. If it is horizontal, you pool cleaners line will not have proper suction. You will also want to check for obstructions in the flapper that would cause the cleaner to not move properly. Finally, make sure that this is the proper cleaner for your pool size. If you have an in ground or very large above ground pool, it is possible that the pump you are operating with is too strong for the cleaner to move properly.

Use your flow gauge to check for proper water flow. It might need to be adjusted. This is usually the issue when this problem arises with this pool cleaner. Check the diaphragm for blockage, damage, or ware. Also, make sure that your hose weight is 29 inches from your cleaner.

You have check all of the things that I would usually recommend when these pool cleaners are moving properly. My additional suggestions would be to make sure that your hose is not too short (adding lengths of hose if necessary) and to check for steering failure. Check and clean your rear screen, make sure that your cone gear is operating smoothly in all directions, and clean, repair, and replace (if necessary) your gear box.

Robot is in the pool and seems to be on (water is moving above it) however the wheels are not turning

If the wheels stop working on these pool cleaners, it is usually something lodged in the drive train. Check the wheels and axles for leaves, cloth, or other debris and remove if necessary.

Not moving around the pool and nothing trapped inside

With these automatic pool cleaners, if there are no blockages, it is usually a problem with the water flow. Use the water flow gauge and check to make sure that you are getting adequate pressure from the returns. I would also check the wings and shoes to make sure that they are not worn.

On these automatic pool cleaners, this is usually a problem with the impeller. Check your impeller to be sure that there are no obstructions, such as leaves or other debris. Clean if necessary. Also, check your front and rear wheels and axles for things that could have become lodged, preventing or restricting movement.

My robo keen pool cleaner is not moving either forward or backward

This is a pretty common problem with these automatic pool cleaners and it usually has a very easy solution. First, even though this seems obvious, make sure that the cable is uncoiled completely and is not blocking water flow. Secondly, make sure that the filter bag is clean and that the impellers are not blocked. Finally, make sure that there is no debris/leaves caught in the axle bearings of the wheels.

My Pentair legend pool cleaner is not moving

On this automatic pool cleaner, this is usually an easy thing to fix. First, make sure that your filter bag is clean and free of obstructions. Next, take of your head float and shake it. If you can hear water inside, you will need to order a new head float and install it. They are usually inexpensive and easy to replace. Make sure the hose floats are evenly placed and make sure that the cleaner is not getting too much pressure from the return lines.
