Question about Cell Phones
Hello Ludwe Magwaxaza,
Assuming your phone is in working order(?)
and software updates are current(?)...
Most issues are right under your control features...
or situational issues BECAUSE a WiFi radio is quite
weak and highly susceptible to other RADIO interference.
First make sure you are close to the WIFI Base
with no large metallic interfaces or other RADIO SOURCES blocking your path... Use a PC or other device to
look for and log into your WiFi (WAP).
Get into "settings" and enable the WAP/WiFi feature
(move the on/off button to "on" (green)).
In order to help us help you... You will need to disclose the communications details of your problem.
What kind of WIRELESS Access Point you are able to connect...
What type of WAP you cannot... (which standard (802.11))
What type of SECURITY is employed (if any)...
Do you have admin capabilities to access & configure the
And finally what type of phone and SOFTWARE REVISION level
you are currently running.
Typically... You should have your phone contents backed up
before attempting to do any hard starts...
Always the case if you value your DATA.
Perform a HARD RESET on your phone and try it all again

I suggest to reinstall the wireless card driver first ..just in case, this will solve any driver issues and will make it functional in case the driver or the setting are corrupted..
To download the driver in case you do not have it on disk or saved somewhere ..just go to acer.com ...select downloads ...drivers and select the model and operation system you use..
download the wifi driver ..run it again ..and after that restart ..and try to make the connection again ...Check the wireless card in device manager to see if it shows in order ...and did not appear in yellow which indicates driver related issues..
also be sure you have network signal ..and the router is functional ..in case other computer is working with this network ..check to see if the connection actually works ..
To redo the connection ..just open the settings for wireless...and click scan for networks ...In the list of available connections ..select yours..and click connect ..insert password if needed.
Good luck !

Network security key
Some later model wireless routers have the Password (ie.Encryption key) and the SSID already configured in the wireless router and this information is printed on a label on the bottom of the router.
These settings can be used to configure the wireless card and wireless adapters in your computer/laptop.
If these settings do not suit you, then it can be changed to suit your requirements.
The encryption key secures your data and wireless connection from unauthorized access. To configure the wireless settings in the router, connect a LAN cable from your computer to the wireless router, then open a Browser on your computer and enter the router's configuration IP address, then enter the admin login and password and then go to the wireless settings and configure the SSID and Encryption key.
The router's encryption key can be a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA or WPA2 key.If you use the Passphrase method select either WEP or WPA or WPA2 to generate the encryption key. You can enter the WEP or WPA or WPA2 key with 8 to 63 ASCII characters or 64 Hex digits.
Most people use Passphrase which is easier to remember eg. I was born in January 1988.
The strongest and latest security is WPA2, the weakest and oldest is WEP. To connect to your wireless router from the computer/laptop, configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPA or WPA2 encryption key. Then computer/laptops can communicate with your wireless router. http://www.fixya.com/support/r10267861-network_security_key
