Question about Water Garden

Open Question

I have a YAMAHA pressure washer PW4040 and the output pressure when gun is activated is 3000# not 4000#

Water inlet pressure is 90# Nozzle is a 3.5 gpm 25 degree nozzle. Cat pump 67DX39G1 has new check valves and new seals. I suspect the engine is not running a specified RPM but I don't have a tach. the Govenor lever is full open and the carburetor throttle is also full open. is there a way to speed up this engine it is a MZ360 Yamaha engine. I can't find an online maintenance manual for this engine. If there is one out there it would help me solve this issue. I got a TACH and as I suspected the engine is running 400 rpm slower than rated. Not as easy as I though it would be. Carburetor throttle is maxed open and governor is in the max open position.

SOURCE: have 2005 ford freestyle. i towed to my shop,

Measure the exhaust back pressure. Do you have an old O2 sensor? If so just break the ends off of it so that just the tube is left sticking thru the center. Install it in one of the O2 ports and hook a vacuum/pressure guage to it. Should read les than 1 psi at idle and no more than 3 to 4 psi at WOT.

SOURCE: 75vette tack stuck at max rpm, both with engine on

How about on an aftermarket tach that bolts on the dash? It worked "fine" up until a few minutes ago. We were trying to adjust it to work with a different amount of cylinders and it shot up past 10,000 RPM and stayed there. Turned off the car and it's still stuck, won't return to 0. Any suggestions? Thanks!

SOURCE: Hi ..i want to know what kind of tachometer i need to use to chek the chainsaw RPM

Boy oh boy there are a lot of tachos here, unfortunatly non i would choose, you need a tacho that picks up the spark pulse from the spark plug, not one that requires a photo tape placed on the machine, Both Husqvarna and Stihl retail good quaility tachos, just place it near the spark plug and it gives a very accurate reading, they are called DET102 the Husqy part no. is 502711401.

No pressure on my husky power washer 1650

Basic Issues As an electric-powered washer, a circuit overload may cause your Husky 1600 to shut down or prevent it from starting. In this case, check your home's electrical service panel for a tripped breaker or a blown fuse -- the 1600 requires a dedicated circuit rated at a minimum of 15 amps. To prevent a blown fuse, avoid using other large devices on the same circuit as your washer. If you use an extension cord, it must be rated at 15 amps as well. Before moving on to more complex troubleshooting measures, check the gun safety trigger and release the lock if your 1600's trigger will not move. Water Woes Releasing air from the pump serves as a simple fix for low-pressure water output; remove the wand and allow the washer to run as you depress the gun's trigger until the water output normalizes. If your water output seems to lack detergent, ensure that the clear tube is securely connected to the detergent nozzle. Likewise, check the connected water supply and make sure the faucet is fully open and that there are no kinks in the hose to ensure optimal pressure. Using a shorter garden hose makes for stronger pressure, as well -- Husky recommends a hose with a maximum length of 50 feet for a city water supply. Clearing Clogs If your Husky 1600's pressure seems lacking or its water flow is obstructed, clean the nozzle by removing the wand from the gun, clearing the nozzle hole of obstructions with a stiff wire and flushing the nozzle with clean water. Similarly, clean the washer's inner water screen, located behind the garden hose connector, by removing the screen and flushing it with water. This also corrects low or irregular pressure and may remedy a unit that does not stop releasing water when the trigger is released. Model HD1600 features a chemical solution reservoir with a similar screen; clean this screen in the same fashion if you experience chemical intake issues. More to Consider If your power washer issues go beyond troubleshooting basics, contact Husky's customer service department at 800-381-0999. Husky recommends contacting customer service when your 1600 has problems with its pump, bypass valve, discharge valve or manifold assembly, for instance. Because this series of powerwashers was originally offered around 2001 through 2008, Husky's one-year limited warranty no longer covers the cost of replacement parts or repairs.

What type of oil does ryobi honda 3100psi 2.5 pressure washer uses ?problem that Im having is machine starts ok but there is no pressure Do u think having no water pressure is cuz being low on oil ?

extremely unlikely
most problems can be attributed to a blocked nozzle that will not allow the pressure regulator to bring the pump to full pressure
The system works like so
the pump uses the tap pressure to generate high pressure ( make sure tap is on and no kinks in the hose)
the pressure generated is fed through the regulator to the nozzle via a hand control
When the control is activated the regulator shuts of the by pass system and full pressure is achieved to the nozzle
when the control is released the pressure regulator by passes the water back to the inlet side and so releases the pump under load
Now if the nozzle is blocked it becomes the control and there will be no pressure
If it is partially blocked the pressure still need no pressure to work so at partial blockage it will still by pass water back to the inlet

Why is there no water flow through on pressure washer?

Sounds like a pump failure. Does yours freeze in winter? Need to winterize like cabin plumbing.
Repair/replacement of pump could be close to new unit.

Honda 160 homelite pressure washer 2700 psi no pressure

Water comes out the nozzle, but low pressure? ( more than when the motor is not running)
I would check the check valves and the unloader.
If the amount of water coming out the nozzle is the same when the motor is running or not running.
Either the key that connects the motor shaft to the pump shaft is sheared, or the pump is trash.
No water comes out the nozzle would indicate a clogged inlet filter or blockage at the gun valve or nozzle.

1. Check the power supply.

2. Check the water supply.

3. Inspect all hoses.

4. Take a look at the inlet valve.

5. Check the intake filter.

6. Inspect the nozzle.

7. Inspect the gun.

8. Check the power pump, unloader, regulator, and other valves.

Diagnosis takes this order because the things at the top of the list are more common and much easier to check. That's the good news when it comes to looking over your pressure washer. Most pressure and other performance issues will be caused by something small and simple like a clogged nozzle.

Even components like regulators and unloaders are fairly simple to replace, and can be done by confident workmen an homeowners. Once problems boil down to a power pump issue, it's usually best that the pressure washer see a shop.

Because the problems of and solutions to symptoms are so varied, we just list them below without any particular order, although we list the most common symptoms and causes first.

There was a leak i undid the mottor and repaired it but some oil spilled out, now there is no leak but little pressure and mottor does not stop

A "chattering" pressure washer pump can be caused by many things. You could have a bent or damaged inlet line, or the water supply might be too low. Fixing these is simple, but checking on the water supply is critical. Never let the water supply run low for any extended period of time. Other causes of a chattering pump include water that is too hot, you may have air in the pump system or a stuck float valve. A power washer pump that is vibrating, but not chattering could be the result of air in the system or debris stuck in the valves. Catching these pressure washer problems early and knowing what causes them will save you a trip to the repair shop, especially when it comes to the low-water issue.

Troubleshooting Low Nozzle Pressure

Low nozzle pressure is a common complaint generally caused by one of the following:

1. Plugged nozzle tip.
2. Inlet screen plugged.
3. Insufficient flow in gallons per minute (not pressure) to the pump.
4. Unloader valve stuck open due to debris lodged under the check valve ball.
5. Customer use of shutoff-type quick connectors.
6. Plugged hose.

Troubleshooting Pressure Washer Soap Injector

When a soap injector is not working properly, the problem is generally fairly easy to isolate. Check the following:

1. If you have interchangeable tips, make sure the Black, soap tip is installed. Soap injectors will not work when high pressure nozzles are installed.
2. Be sure that the soap injector valve is turned on, and turn selector valve to desired setting.
3. A piece of debris may be caught in the injector valve, injector ball valve, or orifice. Disassemble and clean the injector.
4. If you have an adjustable nozzle, be sure it is in the low pressure position(away from the gun) to draw soap.

Thanks

I have a 2600 Troy bilt pressure washer. When I start the pressure washer,no water comes out the nozzle and the nozzle is not clogged either.I took the nozzle/gun off and there still was'nt any wat

If when you take the High Pressure water hose off the pressure washer pump no water will come out they you may simple have the bypass valve stuck. You may need to just remove the outlet fitting and clean the bypass valve.
It would be helpful to know the model number of the pressure washer or the pump.

Does not give a continous high pressure flow cuts in and out

that is sure signal of insufficient water supply!

try easy solution first:
make sure that your mains is fully open, that tap on whihc hose is hook up is fully open and hose is of "decent" diameter to allow sufficient flow.

if above solution do not work then you need to make another, more difficult arrangement:
prepare 20litres pressure tank with inlet connected to mains and outlet by short hose to power washer, fill it with water from mains, keep it under mains pressure and use karcher power washer normaly. this will solve water supply problem. twenty litres will last about 2min, because it is re-filled, under standard pressure therefore it will last about 3min...

third possibility is to stop washing...

if you find my advice helpfull, please do not hesitate to left the comment and vote for me, thanx!

No pressure

Check the Water supply, make sure there is plenty of pressure comming from the hose hookup. Use 3/4" dia. hose to the pressure washer. Check the Inlet Screen on unit to make sure it is not clogged. Hoses are free of kinks. I hope that the information given is helpful, please rate on its helpfulness. Good Luck and have a great day. Jeff

STARTS AND RUNS FINE BUT WHEN I START WASHING IT QUITS SPRAYING AND THEN BUILDS PRESSURE AND KILLS ENGINE

The reason it stops spraying might be a clogged gun, hose or nozzle-tip.
The reason for pressure buildup killing the engine might be a stuck unloader valve in the pump.

While you are checking each component of the "output" side, spray some penetrating lube into the "input" side of the pump (where the garden hose connects) and let it be working on the unloader valve.

Fix the spraying problem first:
Start at the nozzle and verify that it is open by using low-pressure air. Clean or replace as needed. Next check the hose (with nozzle and gun unhooked) and finally the gun/trigger mechanism.
All must be clear and open to perform correctly.

Next, pour a few ounces of power steering fluid (or similarly LIGHT oil) into the garden hose, attach it to the pump and turn on the water supply.

Leave the "output" hose, gun, etc. UNHOOKED and point the output port of the pump (where the high-pressure hose connects) towards a vacant, safe area.
Startup the engine and allow the oil in the garden hose to work its way thru. (About 1 -3 minutes of run-time.) Shut it down and attach the high-pressure hose.
Hope this solves the problem!
