Base not sucking but wand is working

I think you've got it Barbara, its sucked up a hairgrip or similar piece of stiff debris and then the fluff "log jams" around it. Obviously unplug it first and the base is usually held on with a handful of screws some of which may be hidden down tube like recesses in the plastic moulding. A good handy person should have no problem getting it apart and you will most likely find a blockage.

My Dyson DC 25 has a yellow ball that rolls for maneuvering the vacuum while using it to vacuum. The yellow ball gets Jamed and won't roll .

Hi Robert, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC25's ball seems to be jammed and won't rotate freely, it's likely that the post-motor filter housed inside the ball is out of place, and is catching on the ball shell. This is easy to resolve - the video below shows how to remove and replace both filters:

I'm confident this will resolve the issue - replacing the post-motor filter by pushing it into place until you hear a click from the red catch should ensure it remains in position.

If after trying this you notice that the post-motor filter repeatedly comes out of position in use, this is something we should be able to help with - you'd just need to give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU)

How to repair a Dyson dc15 blows instead of sucks

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If dirt seems to be coming back out of your DC15 rather than being deposited in the clear bin, it's likely your machine is blocked. The filter may also need a wash. To check for blockages, please run through each of the steps shown in our online Support guide: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc15/dc15-the-ball-all-floors/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/wand-suction

1c345c46-dd55-4d82-aaec-b445a61b7908.jpg

It's also a good idea to give both parts of the pre-filter a wash - we recommend doing this at least once every 3-6 months in normal use. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for both parts to dry completely before replacing them:

Following each of these steps should resolve the issue. If you would like any further advice from our experts after giving this a try, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

The ball on my Dyson DC25 doesn't turn: it's as if it's stuck . How do I release it?

Make sure the filter cover is on properly. If you can't see what is restricting the ball from turning. You might have to take it to a Dyson service center.

Do i need a neww vacum,my dyson dc24 ball not got any air pressure to suck any dirt up

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24 - however, I'm sure we can help you get it working again. If the machine isn't picking up as well as usual, there may be a blockage in the machine, and the filters may need a wash.

The easiest way to find and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://support.dyson.co.uk/support/dc24/dc24-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/how-to-wash-filters/check-suction

In normal use, the filters need to be washed at least once a month, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for the filters to dry completely before replacing them.

This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance, please get in touch with us directly so we can help. You can call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

We have a Dyson ball vacum the brush stopped working it is no longer turning

There is a known issue with the DC24 brushbar motors. First thing to do is try the reset button. That is located on the left of the brush bar unit as you look at the machine. It is red. Press it and see if the brush bar works when the machine is reclined then. If it doesn't, you most likely need a brushbar motor. You can get one from here: Dyson DC24 brushbar motor.

I have the dyson dc 27. On the bottom left back side of mine there is a circle, and ball inside of it. I turned it on and pushed the ball and it started working again. Sometimes it doesn't cover the whole and stops sucking air through it.
