there is a contraption in electronics called a diode. it is a one way street, current can only flow one way. well in the socket behind the primer bulb is a flap which does the same thing with fluids. either the flap or the bulb as become corrupted, or the small passage the fuel is drawn through has become plugged. you need to get a rebuild kit, take the carb apart, thoroughly clean it, and then put it back together with the parts from the rebuild kit
Have you checked the oil? many motors have an oil pressure switch. When did you last change it? if the oil gets hot and thin, there is less oil pressure. Could also be a safety switch, vibrating loose. Switch on seat maybe?
