the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

When you reboot, go to BIOS, restore factory BIOS settings. If that doesn't help, you'll need to reinstall your OS.

SOURCE: reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key? please help me proceed from this screen when starting pc.

Try putting in your windows disk and using the repair option, your hard drive could be bad or data corrupted, you may have to reinstall windows if you are unable to recover it using the repair console. run CHKDSK /p from the C:\ prompt in the repair console. If you still are unable to access the disk, try reseating the cables on the drive, or using a different power cable. If none of that works, replace the hard drive.

How to reset admin password with the cmd when you are a standard user

What's your operating system? After logging in as standard user, you have insufficient privileges to change the admin password via cmd. You need to boot with Windows install media, and replace sethc.exe with cmd.exe. When rebooting to the login screen, you can launch a command prompt and reset your password there.

Step 1Turn on your laptop. Press the "F2" key when the first loading screen appears. This will load the BIOS. You'll only have a second or two to press this key before Windows begins to boot. If you're not fast enough and the Windows screen comes up, simply restart and try again.

I have installed a new monitor on my desktop (windows xp) but the message appears 'Reboot and select proper boot device, or insert Boot Media' .. I have tried out the new moitor on my laptop and is working...

First check that all your CD/DVD and Floppy drives are empty. If there's a disk in one of them, take it out and reboot.

If there isn't a disk in one of the drives, switch on as normal and watch the screen, at the bottom you'll get a a message saying something like "Press F2 for boot options or "DEL" for setup".

Then it'll disappear quick as lightning before you get chance to do anything.

So re-boot again, this time pressing the boot options button repeatedly, so you don't miss your chance.

When successful a screen will say choose where you want to boot from. Choose HDD 0 (Your first hard drive) and press enter.

If you want to you can press the DEL key and go into the bios and set up your boot options.

I would suggest you set the boot order to

1) HDD
2) CD
3) Floppy Drive.
