Check the thermocouple and clean pilot . Don't jam the knob in if pilot goes out you will get neat gas escaping.

SOURCE: car wont stay running unless foot is on the gas

Withoutknowing if the check engine light is on it could be a variety of things including but not limited to the o2 sensor, throttle positioning sensor, and the MAF and MAP sensors. Best diagnosed by using an OBDII scanner to scan for codes. If no codes are present I would then check for the pressure coming from the fuel pump to make sure it is still functioning.

Why will back burner not stay lit after I release the knob?

there is a small element right next to the ring,it will be pointing into the flame and give off a spark ? this needs to get hot to make the gas stay on. if it is broke then it wont stay hot and turn the gas off ( its a safety feature in case the gas gets blown out while turned on ) so that will be your problem

Heater ignites when holding knob in as soon as you let go flame goes out so basicly it wont stay lit

safety interlock is not being disabled. Older types have a mercury filled bulb flame sensor, newer types have a thermocouple or millivolt sensor. Diagnose and repair the safety shutoff interlock, when the flame heats up the sensor the gas valve should keep the flame lit on its own.

When I turn the gas on the knobs won't stay down, why?

The knobs do not stay down by design. It is a safety feature to prevent accidental turning. You must press the knob down to turn it from position to position.

Hand-wheel above the lighting knob springs back when i move it! Have I to light it first to be able to regulate? Ulf Manual?

Move that knob to PILOT and mash it down, then keep a holdin it down till it stays down on it's own after you done lit it. The copper/nickel alloy inside the thermocouple tip must get hot enough to produce electrical current and keep that sprang loaded electromagnet safety feature open. The whole idea is IF the pilot goes out the magnet will release (when the thermocouple cools down) and close off the flow of raw gas. Clever ain't it? Once you get the pilot to stay lit by itself when you let off the knob, then advance the knob to the ON position. The heater should come on unless you have a separate temp knob. If that is the case depending on how cold it is you would turn that temp knob up a hair.

Belling G755 Cooker oven wont stay lit

I'll give this a go! With a cooker like this, you depress and then turn the control knob, press the ignition button and continue to depress the control knob for a few seconds. This is because a device called a thermocouple is heated by the flame and you have to continue to depress the control knob so that sufficient gas flows to heat up the thermocouple. If the thermocouple does not get hot or stay hot then the gas valve is automatically closed - stopping the gas. The thermocouple is a 'flame failure' safety device. If the gas gets cut off then the flame goes out and the thermocouple goes cold switching off the gas valve automatically. However, you are having to try and manually keep the gas going for a good five minutes. I would think that there is either a problem with the thermocouple or the gas control valve!
