Sony KP-53HS10 Hi I have a sony kp-53HS10 TV. When i turn it on it makes a clicking noise but nothing comes on. A red light under the tv stays on. But the television itself never comes on. I just need some help on what to do to fix it. thanks for your time Aaron Email: good99mood@yahoo.com

Sounds like a Power Board / Video Board issue - stand by power is still ok - and why you have a red light - but the set is unable to power up the panel to drive a picture. Or the video board is the issue an is no longer processing the image to your panel. Based on the clicking noise - I lean towards the power board as the issue.

There are no fan in this tv.This tv most common problems are the dead convergence board parts have problems,picture have colors lines R,B,G out of alignment,have colors shadows,and 3D pictures.The convergence board must have it 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors to be replaced to solved convergence problems.The problems u discribing,it a starting point,just the convergence problems,have not take it effect yet.Sooner or later ur tv will have the convergence problems.

this happened to us about 3 months ago. We were in the middle of a movie and the screen went black, red light flashing. we went online and the lamp bulb is blown. you can order a new on online, cheaper than Sony will charge you.

Hey Shannonbmomt I had the same problem with my KP-53HS10 and I had to replace the High Voltage Transistor IRFI640LFcost me about $20usd with shipping from

I also found that I had a bad flyback transformer which from what I have read online is also a common problem if the high voltage transistor goes out. So I replaced the flyback as well for another $18 from electronix.com part SONY FLYBACK 1-453-285-11

Soldered both pieces in and tv is good as new

Plugged in TV. Timer Standby Light just flashes continusly. No Picture and No Sound.

Try getting a new power supply. Replacement SOny flyback 859882800. That part costs $18 and would be the most inexpensive solution. Unfortunately your probably gonna have to do it yourself unless you want to pay huge handling/service fees. Just google the part number and it should come up. Part# : 8-598-828-00

does the timer light blink? how many times pause then blink again?

does the red light give you a blinking code pause then code?
