Question about Electrical Supplies
Electrical safety is the main concern and if the unit is a dwelling or a workspace it is important to comply with local safety regulations applicable to the unit.
In addition to the above you should read the generator operating manual thoroughly. Few generators are intended for extended use and increased maintenance might be needed. Some generators require a safety earth or ground fitting for some applications, such as using with metal bodied single insulated tools. Certainly an rcd safety device should be included to protect users of the power generated.
You don't describe the generator at all. If it is a portable generator it will be fitted with power outlets so a connection can easily be made. A suitable cable should be hard-wired into the electrical distribution board of the unit and a suitable isolator switch provided. Depending where you are the unit electrical wiring might not be simple and straightforward as expected and it is important it is connected correctly and made compatible with the generator. A local electrician would be advisable....
