SOURCE: Rival CFZ530 Deep fryer

I had this same problem which is how I came across your post, and I found on the Rival website ( www.rivalproducts.com ) you can email the company and tell them the model number and they will email you the manual, and if you're like me and hate to wait that long, you can call their customer service number and tell them what you need and they will email you the manual in about an hour. The number the website gave me was  1-800-323-9519, and I also realized there was also a number on the box too.

SOURCE: cleaning deep fryer

You can not remove the reservoir because if you clean it out with a hot soapy spange or rag. turn the frier over and remove the plate you will see why the reservoir wont come out.

SOURCE: pitco deep fryer flames coming out the fryer

Hi there.
The soot or carbon have probably build up inside the fire tubes, better check and have an authorized service technician clean them.
Make sure that the fryer is receiving the rated gas pressure and correct gas type as stated on the nameplate, this way, carbon or soot formation on fire tubes can be prevented
Regards.

SOURCE: Deep fryer catching on fire

From the video it appears many things could be wrong. The baffles and burner tubes could be clogged, the burner itself can be clogged, the flue is blocked, or this unit is using the wrong type of gas, ie: propane on a natural gas fryer.
Recommended steps for troubleshooting.
1. Verify proper gas type. Natural or Propane.
2. Check Burners, tubes, and baffles, clean all soot and debris from them.
3. Check for and remove any obstructions from the flue.

Deep fryer ignites but burner flames will not enter cylinders

Hi there.
Fire tubes may be clogged with soot. Have a technician inspect and clean the fire tubes for soot deposits/ build ups.
Check also if there is no air or ventilation directed on flue as it will push the flames back to the burners.
Regards.

Fryer does not shut off when temp .is reached

I assume it is a gas model. There are 2 thermostats. One is adjustable, you set your temp, it sounds like it has gone bad.. The second thermostat is the high limit thermostat. When it reaches 450 degrees F, it will shut down the pilot and main flame to prevent a grease fire. It may be possible that someone has hooked the thermostat up wrong. Next time you fire it up, disconnect one of the thermostat wires that has the temperature knob. If the flame goes out, the thermostat is bad,

What do I need to buy to properly vent a 40 lb. deep fryer?

Well, these are commercial fryers that are typically under a commercial exhaust hood with a fire suppression nozzle located directly above them. Why, are you doing something out of the ordinary?
