Question about The Health & Beauty

Open Question

I have a White Stinkwood tree +/- 30 years old. This autumn it has been dropping leaves full of a sticky gum which end up all over my house and my patio is full of this gum as the tree overhangs it.

Does it have a disease? If so what can I do about it? I live in Randburg, Gauteng

SOURCE: My Belltronics radar detector stopped working.

It sounds like you have a power issue for the power cord. Either the power cord is not getting any power, or it no longer has a good ground connection.

Blot the stains

When something spills over on the carpet, the first thing most of us do is take a cloth and rub it, which is a wrong method of cleaning as the stains will only spread along and might be difficult to clean later. Blot the stains immediately with a sponge, clean cloth or paper towels and let it absorb without spreading it.

Shaving cream to remove stains

All houses do have a shaving cream in their bathroom cabinets. Just apply a little cream for any kind of stain and let it soak for about 30 minutes. After half an hour, blot the shaving cream away with a white cloth. Clean the place with equal measures of vinegar and water in a sprayer and spraying it where the shaving cream was applied.

Freeze the sticky gums

The tasty chewing gums are good as long as it is in the mouth, but with a house full of children, can have the half chewed gums sticking here and there and is extremely difficult to clean if it sticks to the carpet. Sometimes it is also possible to come sticking to our footwear from the outside and then stick to the carpets. The best and easy way to remove these gums sticking to our carpet is by freezing the gums with ice cubes for about 30 minutes. Once it becomes hard, take it out with the help of a spoon.

Hydrogen peroxide for blood stains

Using hydrogen peroxide to clean blood spots on carpets is one of the best solutions. Blot the stain with water initially and remove it as much as possible. Did Obama ever refer a Christmas tree as a holiday tree?

No, it is a myth. The White House said

"There is no truth to this, and the letter referenced ............ does not exist. No letter has gone out yet from the White House pertaining to Christmas tree ornaments. The trees in the White House will be called Christmas trees, and the tree on the Ellipse will be called the National Christmas Tree. There will be no name changes.

Fruit trees need adequate water - especially if young and in spring and summer. They may also be susceptible to bugs or disease. You can take a leaf to your local nursery for specific advice.

Engine dies when throttle engaged, assume carb needs adjusted, how to do that?

I'm not familiar with your brand of machine, BUT...

This symptom usually is not an indicator for a need for a carb "adjustment," but instead, it indicates a need to clean-out "gum" and "varnish" in the TINY passages [called "galleries"] inside your carb!!!!!

The gum and varnish problem is caused by leaving old, stale fuel in the carb for long periods of time.
