IPod player won't show on screen of my Sharp LCD LC-46D62U

I purchased one of those iPod players that has a standard (yellow) video, and both audio (red & white) connectors. The system is suppose to show the iPod screen on the remote monitor, in this case my Sharp TV, and then you can control via the IR remote that came with the iPod player. I am connecting the iPod player first to my Dennon receiver and then outputting the video to the TV via the receiver video outputs. I have tried both S-video and standard (yellow) but when I select the video input on the TV I get a blank black screen. Can you please help?

The IPod player is hooked to the receiver via standard yellow video connection and the receiver only has one connection to the TV, HDMI. All the other video sources that come through the receiver display fine. The same cable works on all other TV when connected directly so I know its not the cable. What do you mean by ipod is not supporting to the TV output? I also have this same problem when I try to hook my security cameras to the SHARP LCD TVs through a modulator and the S-video connection to TVs. They display fine on all other TVs except the SHARPS as well. It has to be a setting on the SHARP TV.

    No that doesn't work.

As I stated above the IPod player and Security cameras work fine on all the other TVs in my home.

Connect direct to the TV and select
TV/video and see if that works

  • Anonymous Dec 10, 2007

The Ipod does net work connected direct to
video/audio inputs Why dont you see if the
Ipod wlil work on anything connected dorectly
You say the TV already has a problem maybe
the Ipod has a problem also The Tv should
show a blue screen with no signal not blank
You need a good working TV that accepts
video connections Vid/audio VCR, DVD ETC
and then check Ipod on that TV

  • Anonymous Dec 10, 2007

Since it works on other TV setst why not use
one of the other sets, and have a techiician
look at the Sharp with the video problem
probaly a coupling or filter capacitor or
maybe a bad solder joint There is no
setting that produces a black screen

My Sharp Aquos lc-46d62u has audio but not video. Only a blue screen

If you are using a box of some kind remove it and the set from power for a while and then plug back to allow both to come on and reboot---blue screen usually means no signal seen..........check the other inputs on set with a dvd player etc.

Sharp Aquos LC-37D44U only shows B&W images from DVD & VHS source

First thing- why not just use the HDMI instead of standard def cables in the first place? Anyway- If the RCA-video (yellow composite cable) is not producing color, 1 of 2 things may be wrong: 1. You accidentally connected the a/v cables [yellow white and red] to [red green and blue] component inputs or vice versa, or.. 2. Your TV or DVD player is somehow set to the wrong video format. Check the DVD settings for video output format and video connector type. Format should be NTSC, and connector should be composite and/or s-video for the cables you're using.
If this is only happening when connecting the DVD player through the VCR, then check to make sure the same cables connecting the DVD player to the the VCR are also connected to the TV from the VCR.
BTW- if this is just to record DVDs to a VCR, I'll tell you it's not worth it. If your DVD player has an HDMI port, your picture quality will be so much better than if you're watching a VCR copy of one. Your new HDTV will look worse than an old standard def TV. Worse; I'm not kidding.
I hope some of this helps.

Sharp LCD LC-46D64U

Try resetting the TV. Here's how to do it - Unplug the TV's power cable. Keep the Channel Down and Volume Up buttons on the TV pressed and plug the power cable back into the outlet. You will hear a click when you plug it back in if the reset is successful. Hopefully this should restore your video and audio.
