Question about Tivoli Henry Kloss Model Two FM/AM Radio
My 3 year old Model Two has been working fine until about 6 months ago. At that time, it would play for a few hours and then the music would stop with a 'click' and the radio would generate a hum. Turning it off and on later would repeat the cycle. If this is heat related, it is not because of the location of the radio which has plenty of air-flow and is sitting on an open counter. It has not suffered any electrical or mechanical damage.
The problem has escalated and the radio will do nothing but hum now. Does this radio have a 'known problem' with a particular weak component? Has anyone had any success repairing this radio. When it worked, it was perfect for my application.
You most likely have a bad filter capacitor. i assume you run this radio on ac power.
the cap is the largest one inside the radio be sure to put the same values back mf and dc volts.
