It sounds like the battery on your computer is dying, and the battery cannot keep the clock running. If Dell's warranty is still valid, contact Dell, to get your computer fixed/replaced.

This is one of the known issues with the Inspiron 1525 computer. The problem is caused by faulty cmos battery. If you computer is in warranty kinldy call Dell to get the same replaced . if the system is out of warranty. You would need to replace the CMOS battery ie below the keyboard.
You can follow the instructions below

You need to have your CMOS battery replaced. This is not the same as your laptop battery. If this is in warranty then you can call dell for help. if this unit is not in warranty then you can find a service manual and take a stab at replacing the battery but the best thing is to take it to a computer repair shop and have them replace the battery for you.

There are two possibilities. The first possibility is that the CMOS battery has died (sometimes happens even on newer machines). These batteries don't cost that much, but sometimes these batteries aren't the easiest to get to. If the computer is under warranty, you may want to have Dell replace the battery.
You can find the service manual here if you want to replace the CMOS battery yourself:
This service manual refers to this battery as the "coin cell battery."
Step by step instructions are here:
The second possibility is that a motherboard component has gone bad and (the motherboard) needs replacing. One would certainly hope that the laptop is under warranty for this.

SOURCE: time of day clock stopped
This is the cause of a CMOS the little round nickle plated battery located underneath the laptop behind one of the plates. Replace this and reset the BIOS time and date and you should be able to solve the issue. John
