Question about Yamaha 12V Air Pump
I have a 2000 gp1200r waverunner and my starter sometimes won't stop. Last year this happened and it completely melted my starter and my relay. I changed both my starter and relay this year and I still have the same problem. When I try to start it and if it does not start right away the starter will keep turning even if I don't push the green starter button. Trying to get out on the water this year because this problem wouldn't let me last year. Thanks
Could be a stuck switch (green button). If you find the wire that goes to the wiring harness (green button) you can test for continuity with a multimeter to see if this is the case. The only other thing it could be is the computer.

This is most often caused by a battery that does not have a full charge on it. The low amperage available from the battery causes the contacts inside the starter relay to weld themselves together and allow the electric starter motor to continue to run even after the starter button is pushed. Always start out with a fully charged battery and you will not have this problem.
