SOURCE: Senco SN4 misfiring intermittently

This is a discontinued tool by Senco but there are still parts available for it. It sound to me that the o rings and possibly the firing valve need to be replaced. I would recommend going to Senco.com and you will find a complete parts diagram in their discontinued tool section. They also have a toll free number if needed and you can talk to their air pro. I have rebuilt quite a few of these and they are not that hard just make sure to clean all the parts and use lube when replacing O rings.

SOURCE: The rifle missfires about every third shot.

It sounds like you've either have a weak firing pin spring, or the follower may be giving you problems. Did the gunsmith check for excessive headspace??? If not, he or she probably should. This can not only cause mis-fires, it may also create a dangerous situation otherwise. I'd DEFINITELY get a second gunsmith to check this out for your own safety! I'm a gunsmith myself, and wouldn't risk it ever.

SOURCE: severe misfiring

one thing you can try is starting it when cold and while it is skipping..shut it off and remove the spark plugs and see if they are wet with antifreeze,i have seen this on a few vehicles and is a hard problem to catch,if there is antifreeze on the plug u might have a small internal head gasket leak, hope this helps

SOURCE: I have an old H&R1871 Topper shotgun patened in feb

Yes you can, those old shotguns were pretty much all the same, a lot of the parts interchange, but go to gunparts.com, they have everything there, if not, find Jackfirst, He has a ton of stuff. I have the same gun right here that was my fathers, bought in 1913 for $13, almost 100 years old!!!

This site is not a gun site as far as value estimates goes we have no clue. Contact a local gun shop or gunsmith (best choice) and they may be able to help.

Hopkins and allen gun #654

Some were in a "break open" configuration and some were in single action type.
They are old and I wouldn't try and shoot it; before a certain year only black powder is to be used and F modern powder is use gun would explode. Take it to a reputable gunsmith and have them look at it and give you an appraisal on it.

Make model and serial number is about all that you need. If possible, take it to a reputable gunsmith. He should be able to tell you everything you want to know about it.

Erial number

Before the gun control act of 1968, serial numbers weren't required by law.

Manufacturer of low end guns didn't bother numbering them.

I have a 243 cal single shot that snaped when fired. Tried different ammo. still misfires

Firing pin is worn. It may make a slight dent in the primer, but not quite enough to press against the anvil inside of the primer, hence the misfiring

Talk to a gunsmith to see if he has any spares, or has the ability to repair the firing pin.

Looking for instructions on how to disassambling the receiver of a 12ga model 944 single shot sprinsfield savage shot gun . looking to copy instructions book

Unfortunately, I don't believe there are ANY disassembly instructions available in print or online for this shotgun. I've taken apart 2 or 3 of these in the past and they can be tricky to get the springs back in correctly.
My best suggestion would be to find a gunsmith in your area who would be willing to let you watch him/have him teach you how to do it.
Best of luck, Mark the Gunsmith
Please post feedback, Thanks!
