Remove the spark plug, spin the compression tester into the spark plug hole, hold the throttle wide open and pull the cord 2 or 3 times. Look at the reading and compare it to specifications... Your lawn and garden store may be able to do it for you or may know someone who can. Hope this helps.

Why does my stihl chainsaw spray gas out muffler and carburator

I had something similar a long time ago with my Stihl chainsaw. I removed the small carbeurator and found that the gas/ carb float was at times sticking in the open position allowing too much gas to flow into the piston cylinder. The spark and compression can theoretically burn so much fuel on each compression stroke of the piston and the residual ie; overflow of gas/oil mixture is forced out the muffler on the exhaust stroke. Keep in mind the engine is a two cycle stroke engine meaning it fires each time the piston compresses and therefore if it is the float sticking open it will seem like a great deal of raw fuel being forced out the muffler. I hope this will give you a starting point to look at. Good luck and hope you don't get discouraged because the Stihl product, especially the chainsaw is one of the finest produced and on the market today.

Stihl TS400 stone cutter not working (no compression) so replaced piston rings, new gasket kit and clean for carb new spark plug (good spark when engin turned over) cleaned all air filters, replaced all...

You did not indicate whether or not you have compression now that you have changed out the gaskets and piston rings. If not, it seems to me that the problem could be a) cracked head or block, b) bad valve(s) or even c) a warped head.

Sorry for the bad news (if I am right).

Stihl blower will not start

check your abc's of engines first
(intake, fuel) substitute a tiny amount of raw gas in carb intake to see if it springs to life !
(compression) -pull rope slowly to "feel" the piston move up in cylinder to meet resistance , then down again
(combustion, spark) - remove spark plug from engine and place nearby the hole (don't hold it !!!) and pull saw over briskly look for spark near tip of plug

Km90 starts but won't run on full revs

The KM90 is a 4mix engine that has valves. You may need to check the valve clearance, using the clearance tool.

The KM90 is a 4 mix engine and regularly needs the valve clearance tightening up, remove the orange housing, under there you will see the rocker cover, held on by 1 screw. The valve clearance tool can be bought from your local dealer or online.

I have a 026stihl that won't start

It would be a good idea to check the compression first to make sure there is enough to make the saw run. A person can run in circles trying to figure out an issue if the compression is below 100 psi, there should be about 150 psi. Older Stihl saws are also notorious for cracked fuel lines. Check the fuel line to be sure it is ok, also check the spark.
