RHeem 21v40-7 gas heather leaks on the top. Water comes out from all four connections: Cold water in connection, warm water out, rod dip, valve. Do i need to change it? Should I tightened the connections?...

You are sure it is LEAKING pater at all those 4 locations-- correct?
None of the water is from condensation, right?

If you have had pressure water leaks for many years-- then likely a lot of damage has been done to the insulation-- and the sheet metal outer liner?
Does the sheet metal 'skin' (outside jacket get real warm?-- if so, you are loosing a lot of energy -- Probably time to invest in a new, better insulated, and more efficient combustion burner-
and this time, Make sure there are NO LEAKS, when the installation is done!

The heater heats the water just fine, but after a short while it shuts off and the water becomes cold.

sounds like the unit cant keep up. What I mean is that the water going in is to cold to begin with. All tankless units efeciency is based on the temp of water going in, which their rated between 40-50 degrees on average. Now if you live in the southern part of the country, U.S., thats fine. But if you live in the northern part, it will not work. Im in Vermont and have people in the store about once a month looking for an electric unit, because they dont have gas, And I have to do my best to talk them out of it.

No hot water

Is hot water present when opening the drain valve. Use a bucket to catch the water. Adjust thermostat from high to kow then prefered detting. Make sure hot water out line does not have a closed valve. If gas, ck pilot. If electric, elements may be damage if heater was powered up before or while initial filling.
