Question about Bushnell Optics

1 Answer

I have a Bushnell Rotary 340 power telescope. It will not adjust the focus. Where would I send it for repair service. Or would it be something I could do myself.

No it's not --- junk it and buy another telescope. This time avoid Bushnell- Tasco, and Edu Science scopes.

Check out the Orion web site here, for a Dobsonian reflector telescope. The most aperture for the least amount of money.

Will not focus, only light comes through, no image at all

All the manuals for Bushnell telescopes are located on this web site- look down the page for your model telescope:
http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-warranty.html

Put the eyepiece with the LARGEST number written on it into the focuser, this is your lowest magnification.

Take the scope outside during the daytime and practice focusing on a distant object. Turn the focus knob slowly while keeping your eye on the eyepiece, watching closely for a focused image.

Cannot focus model AP-78-9570 Bushnell Telescope

Is this your telescope?
http://www.binocularsdirect.com/Bushnell_Telescopes/dptsmzmyqcq.html

Can you try replacing the eyepieces on the side with the one on the back. Also if you "slightly" slide the eyepiece OUT does it come to focus?

I must tell you this is a very unusual design with a turrent AND another eyepiece on the back. Has the rotary eyepiece module become loose from the back of the tube? Can you push it in closer to the tube?

Other than forward or backward adjustment that's all the focuser will do.

Hello, i have a Bushnell Rotary 340 power, mod. AG 78-1337, i don´t have the specification sheet and i need to know if is refractor or reflector, or both, also i need to know the opening, focal length...

A refractor has a lense in the front, and the eyepieces go into the back.

A reflector has a MIRROR inside.

Here are all the Bushnell manuals about 1/2 way down this page:

Focusing parts . Teeth worn down on my 570X60 Rotary Refractor Telescope Model 78-9570. Please, only need place to get the part. Is like 1/8 inch wide and possibly a couple inches long.

You will not be able to buy parts-- a new QUALITY focuser costs more than your entire telescope.

Chunk it in the trash and buy this--
