Cubic yards is a measure of volume while pounds is a measure of weight. There is no direct conversion between them because it depends on the density of the substance.

For example, 0.89 cubic yards will weigh a lot more than 0.89 cubic yards of feathers.

We need to convert everything to a common unit, so let's convert the 18 inches into 1.5 feet.

Volume is length times width times height.

v= 132 x 2 x 1.5

v= 396 cubic feet

To convert to cubic yards, imagine a yard cube. It is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet for a total of 27 cubic feet.

v1 = 396 cubic feet/27 cubic feet per yard

v1 = 14 2/3 cubic yards

So 15 cubic yards should do it.

Good luck.

One is a measurement of length, the other is a measure of weight.

however, you might be referring to 'Cubic Yards'?

depends upon the rock type and how fine it is, but one reference notes that one cubic foot of gravel typically weighs about 100 pounds.

So 1 ton has 2000/100 or 20 cubic feet of gravel. A cubic yard is 3x3x3 = 27 cubic feet to the cubic yard

Answer is 20/27 or 0.74 cu yard. I'd round that to 3/4 cubic yard.

Using the weight info provided in the link - 1 cubic yard could be about 2,780lbs. Depending on water content, density of and type of stones in the mix - 1 cubic yard could approach a weight as great as 4,000lbs.

Let's assume for easy calculations that an*average* cubic yard weighs 3,000lbs. (or 3,000lbs/2,000lbs = 1.5 tons).

That means 1,361yds x 1.5tons = 2,041.5 tons.

Lighter average cubic yards as mentioned in the link? Then 2780lbs/2000lbs = 1.39tons/yd. - or -

1361yds x 1.39tons = 1891.9 tons

Heavier average cubic yards as mentioned in the link? Then 4000lbs/2000lbs = 2tons/yd - or -

1361yd x 2tons = 2722 tons.

something wrong with that question:

because "ton" is for WEIGHT

and "yard" is for DISTANCE!

short ton = 2,000 lb (about 907.18kg).

1 yard = 3feet = 36 inch or 0,9144 Meter

Hello. That's a little tricky. I had 10 yards delivered years ago and I figured that I filled my wheelbarrow about 15 times for each yard. Keep in mind that usually 10 - 12 loads of soil is about 1 cubic yard, but obviously lighter and easier to push. So,...count on about 160 -180 lbs per load times 15 loads per yard equals 2400 - 2700 pounds. Times that, times 20 yards, and you have 48000 - 54000 pounds, or about 24 - 27 tons. Now, you have to think about all that dirt on the rocks which I don't think will add too much weight unless it's being dug out of clay then you might want to add a few hundred pounds per ton.

Ton is a unit of mass (or weight), yard is a unit of length. There is no direct conversion between them.

Do you mean 941.39*cubic* yards? If so, cubic yards of what? 941.39 cubic yards of water weighs about 720 tons. 941.39 cubic yards of lead weighs about 8160 tons.

Do you mean 941.39

You say 200yds do you mean 200 sq yds or cubic yds? There are 9 cubic feet in a square yard 1ft deep and 27 cubic ft in a cubic yard. You will have to know and factor in the weight of 1 cubic ft of manure to get your tonnage. 2,000 lbs in a short ton.
