Epson printer partially printing

Sounds as though you have blocked nozzles - perhaps through leaving printer, especially in a dry atmosphere? Try going into the Printer's Properties dialogue box and then the Advanced tab to then use the Nozzle Clean routine. Ensure you always do a Nozzle Check after every cleaning cycle. That will improve the ink flow - should you have any still even slightly clogged - obtain some Ammonia - 5% solution is fine (some window cleaners have this - Windex with Ammonia in many countries - Ammonia of course will be a bit cheaper. To make a 5% solution (approx.) put a teaspoon into a cup of water. Make a pad of some linen say 4 layers (like a handkerchief as example) of about 6" x2". Set the printer into its Cartridge Changing mode - it will move the printhead. Then disconnect the power lead (NOT turn off or head will re-park). You can then freely move head so put soaked pad in well and move head until across pad so nozzles can soak up. Leave for a couple of hours. Slide head off and remove (now ink stained) pad. Just plug power back in and switch on (some Epsons will auto restart when power replaced - you may have to switch yours on). It will re-park head after doing a clean. Then do a nozzle check and should be fine.

IP4300 print head does not move so I can remove cartridges.

try turning off the printer and after that try to move the print head. See if it moves. If it doesn't you have to remove the case(it snaps on, there are little arrows on the bottom that show you where the clips are). After you remove the case there is a spring actioned thingy that parks itself right beneath the head, pull it an it should be easy after that.

Printer error 3515

Kodak ESP-5 error message 3515....tried Kodak way but didn't work....could hear the print head attempt to move but couldn't...unplugged unit from power....opened to expose the print cartridges...removed small screws on sides and back of printer...gently pry open top....turn gears on right side with finger toward front several turns.....check and see if print head will now move to center....(I removed cartridges and print head so I could see the blotter under print head move to back position. Re-installed print head and cartridges.) plugged power cord back in and turned on...unit cycled and then screen showed normal....replaced screws in top panel.....printed test page...back in operation......Don't be heavy handed....plastic will break very easy I think when opening panel if not careful...

It's telling me to clear carriage jam, but there isn't one. How do I get the carriage cleared?

Sounds like a piece of paper (or whatever media you were using) is stuck between the print heads and the platen.

Are the print heads in the 'docked' position (right side of the print area?).

Do they move to the docked position when you open the printer with the power on -?

DON'T try to force the print heads to move - this can break the belt that drives them or get it out of position.

If the print heads don't move when you open the printer or power cycle it, there is probably something jammed under them.

If there is something under the print heads, you could try pulling it out - I would use a plastic tool, not metal - lots of delicate parts there.

Besides this, you might do best taking it in for service - these printers are pretty easy to break.

Canon S520 printer stopped printing has 7 orange lights before the green light on printer has an error code

Hi ...

light flashing 7 times means that there is an issue with printer head. Try and perform the below steps to reset the printer head whcih might resolve the problem. If this doen not, I would suggest you get your printer checked by a technician.

Reseat the print head
  1. Confirm that the printer is powered on.

  2. Check that the printer is powered on, and open the front cover. Wait until the print head moves to the center.

  3. Hold and slowly move the print head lock lever up and down several times.

  4. Lower the print head lock lever to secure the print head.

Note: Holding the print head may cause it to not be seated properly. Perform this step using only the print head lock lever.

  5. Close the front cover.
Don't forget to vote if this helps ... Cheers :)

One of the 3 colors will not print

This problem may be due to blocked nozzles, faulty cartridges or a faulty print head or main board. The first thing to do is eliminate the cartridges. Do a proper cartridge change on both printers, but swap the yellow and cyan (blue) cartridges between printers rather than fit new ones. If either (or both) of the missing colours now appear, you know the problem is the cartridges; replace it (or them) with new ones.

For example, take printer A, with yellow missing. Do a cartridge change procedure on printer A, but instead of fitting a new yellow cartridge, put in the yellow cartridge from printer B (since you know this yellow cartridge works). If yellow now prints in printer A, you know the cartridge you took out is faulty - put a new yellow in printer B, and throw away the cartridge you removed from printer A. Repeat this process for printer B with the Cyan cartridge.

For one or both printers where the above does not solve the problem, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head across fully into its parking position on the right, so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then try a head clean or two. If the missing colours now start to appear, try another clean or two. If still not perfect, leave for 24 hours and try again. If still nothing, report back.

C88 stylus printer does not print

When did this failure to print occur? Was it sudden e.g. after changing cartridges, or did the print quality slowly deteriorate to nothing? Are you completely confident that you have good ink cartridges containing plenty of ink. What the Status Monitor is showing you in terms of the quantity of ink remaining may well be incorrect. If not sure, try a new set of cartridges, making sure you use the proper cartridge replacement procedure so that an ink charging cycle takes place. If ink starts to appear on the paper, do not carry out head cleaning cycles willy-nilly. Leave it for 24 hours to disperse air bubbles then do a couple of cleaning cycles. If it's still not perfect leave it for another 24 hours etc. Patience is required here.

If you have already done lots of head cleans with no result, and you're sure you have a good ink cartridge properly installed, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Carefully push the print head fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then try a head clean again. If still nothing, report back
