does the water empty from the machine? if not you will more than likely have something trapped in the pump. the best thing to do is run the grey outlet hose into a bucket, this will empty the machine. then tilt machine back (make sure it wont fall) then remove the plastic kick plate on the front bottom, behind this you should see the round plastic filter this will unscrew and pull out, you may need a couple of towels put on the floor as there is usually water left in the pipes. clean any debris and screw filter back in, should only need to be hand tight. replace kick plate and then give it try.
hope this helps
REMEMBER MAKE SURE POWER IS OFF BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY WORK.

SOURCE: I NEED PCB BOARD FOR
I have checked the Hotpoint web site, and a pcb is £114.00.
You also need the eprom which plugs into the pcb, this is another £24.00, and is unprogrammed, this means that it is a blank memory chip, and has to have the programmes put into memory.
This is something that only Hotpoint can do, so you have to add the cost of calling an enginner to the cost of the parts.
This as you can see, makes it very expensive to repair.
It would be in excess of £200.00.
There is one other alternative, and that is, if the washer is less than 5 years old, then you should be covered by the Hotpoint 5 year part guarantee, but you would have to confirm this with Hotpoint.
It would certainley be cheaper to do it this way.
Plz rate my solution.

call sears 1 800 4myhome they can walk you thru some troubleshooting. First thing pull back the rubber ring between door and barrel to see if anything like pens etc feel into the gap underneath. If not call for troubleshooting. Get a plan with sears then wait 30 days and call in the problem. Fix will cost less.
