fixya site is not a medical forum
see your doctor for a proper diagnosis
in the mean time go to a chemist/pharmacist and get a small bottle of Benadine throat gargle and follow the directions for the mixture to gargle
It is a very effective germ/bacteria destroyer in the throat when used as directed
do not swallow the mixture

Leg ulcer with psudomonis

That can be serious for you. It sounds like you have already seen a doctor, and it may be worth having a second opinion.

Pseudomonas can become resistant to antibiotics, and often a specimen from the infection will be tested by a lab to determine which antibiotic is going to work best.

There is a range of possible antibiotics which the doctor may choose from:
ceftazidime
  • ciprofloxacin or levofloxacin
  • gentamicin
  • cefepime
  • aztreonam
  • carbapenems
  • ticarcillin
  • ureidopenicillins

  • In addition that ulcer may imply trouble with the blood circulation in your legs (which might be old news to you), so ask about treatment for that from the doctor.

Above all, don't neglect this or try to manage it by yourself.

I have an infected toe which I have been treated by podiatrist but it has got pus now I soaked it in salt water and put iodine dressing on it but its still very sore,i cant take antibiotics.

I strongly suggest you see your primary care physician immediately; he or she can either a) send you to the hospital for treatment b) refer you to an open wound specialist c) or refer you to an infectious disease doctor.
You say that you can't take antibiotics; which ones? all of them?
If the toe, foot, and leg are red, hot to the touch, experiencing slight or low grade fever, chills and stuff...call for an ambulance and go to the hospital; you'll need to have a doppler test done on the leg to make sure you have no blood clots; plus you'll need to have blood labs and blood cultures taken!
The toe pus will have to be analyzed to determine the type(s) of bacterium that have infected the toe.
If you are a diabetic and your glucose levels are out of control- the healing process slows down to not-at-all.
Depending upon the extent of the infection you may need to be placed on an I.V. drip of antibiotic versus taking it orally. There are so many broad range antibiotics available- even for people who "can't" take antibiotics; and you can be pre-treated with benadryl so you won't have any adverse reactions.
Please don't wait; you can lose the toe, foot, or leg- and in extreme cases, infections can travel throughout the body and permanently damage vital organs and cause *****.
As a matter of fact, don't wait- go to the hospital E.R. right now and get immediate treatment!

Since pneumonia is caused by a bacteria, antibiotics is needed to destroy the bacteria.

Why is these antibiotics not working? She gave it to me for bladder infection. the tablets are white and were prescribed for 20 days, cannot read the name she wrote down, only a Batch Lot 2720840.

We are not physicians as as such cannot and will not speculate officially on your problem. However, common sense says that if your symptoms have not improved, or have worsened, then you may have a more serious infection that originally assumed; you may be infected with an antibiotic-resistant strain of bacteria; or you may have been misdiagnosed. In any case, a return trip to the doctor is in order if you want to solve your issue.

Can I use flucloxacillin for a chest infection I have?

You can but how do you know that you have an infection and not something else? Antibiotics only work for bacteria and you may have a virus. You may have a fungus, you may have an allergy.

Are you more prone to getting a fungal infection if you take antibiotics?

Yes, you are more prone to fungal infections because the antibiotic may kill the normal harmless bacteria that live and make it easier for fungi to flourish.
