SOURCE: I'm runnin out of hot water in minutes.Baseboard is fine. The hot water pipe off the boiler is hot and it goes thru a dial or adjuster to the taps. And it's warm/cold after that dial. Where do I start?

that adjuster is there to reduce the water temperature so that scalding from boiling water doesn't occur
they can be adjust but if this problem has come in after a period of time then the sensor wax inside the adjuster is not as it should be.
they do fail and need replacing
most plumbers put the unit on the hot water outlet because they are lazy as the standard says that it is primarily for use on the shower, bath, basin systems and wash machines and kitchen sink are not required to be temp controlled.

I need a diagram for an indirect hot water system heated by a solid fuel boiler and an oil boiler

If you are using more than one heat source you will have 1 more pump than the heat source pumps Main pump = SYSTEM pump pumps through the indirect hot water system and back into itself. This is the system loop. The other two boilers tee into this loop upstream of the indirect tank, downstream of the SYSTEM pump. The cold water return to each boiler tees into the system loop next to and upstream of where the hot water for that boiler tees into the system the loop. The oil boiler will have its own pump on its return line from the sytem loop and the solid fuel boiler will have its own pump. When any boiler fires, it turns on its own pump AND the system pump. If you want a drawing email me -pipesster@gmail.com send a fax number and I'll fax you a drawing.

Boiler recycling when in DHC mode and water alternates hot then cold, back to hot every few minutes. Could it be pressure / flow rate.

First check pressure over 1 bar ok then-
1. check flow - is it adequate - a little less than the cold tap ok then -
2. does the boiler initially fire up on low hot flow but alternate as u say
If answers are 1. no but 2. yes then check for a furred up secondary heat exchanger
if 1. yes but 2. no [that is the water not the heating] goes hot / cold and if the boiler goes out when the water goes to cold then it's the diverter valve, either to replace or if it is one which has a internal diaphragm-replace that

Amtrol water heater WH-7P gets barely warm water

From what you are saying it sounds like an issue with either a circulator pump or a zone valve. It depends on what type of system you have ... if you have a circulator pump that only runs the Amtrol then that is probably bad. If you have a zone valve system then it is probably the zone valve if you still have heat for the rest of the house. If you have no space heating then it is probably the circulator pump.

No central heating back boiler

back boiler run from a gas fire? check the instructions to operate the gas heat to the back boiler not just the fire
I presume that this a fully pumped system - air lock doubtful There maybe on/off valves on the pipes to and from the back boiler [situate close to cylinder] make sure they are on - anticlockwise turn
or there could be a blockage in the outlet from header tank usually in the loft. or If there is no water in it maybe the mains cold feed it is off.
Note if no water in it DO NOT USE the back boiler
