Error code 42 I need to replace the electrolytes capacitors. Can you provide the part code

What caps where? There are capacitors on various boards on those sets. Does the code 42 tell you what board they are located on?

The values are indicated on the caps themselves and the values vary all over the place with regard to uf spec and voltage.

Panasonic TH-37PX60U Plasma Flat Screen TV in continuous use about 5 years. Now has two small lines the full 37" width that scroll slowly from bottom to top. See photo.

I can't see any photo here, but assumes to be the fault with its main power supply board itself. If main smoothing capacitors deteriorate its value wit time, this kind of fault can occur. Visually you can't see any damaged capacitors or board. It is advised to replace the electrolytic capacitors at the power regulator board. Replace it one by one, and see the effect, is the only thing to do. Otherwise, replace the main power regulator board by same number, as card basis. If you're sound in electronics, and wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.
Defective screen shots to plasma displays are given. You can compare it to that of your TVs', and make sure about the fault, I described above.

Good day!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

PANASONIC M# TH42PX80U S# MA80430252 WHEN UNIT IS TRUNED OFF IN ABOUT 15 TO 2O MIN. IT STRATS CLICKING LIKE IT'STRYING TO TURN ON , BUT WHEN WE HIT THE POWER B. IT COME'S ON. IT TURN ON AND OFF OK....

Hello,

That problem is usually happen when the power supply board got faulty by means of dropping voltage down due to some reasons like leak capacitors, cold solders etc..

try to inspect the capacitors that encircle on the picture below if it is look like bulged/dome on the top that is indication of faulty capacitors need to replace it with the same value..

2_3_2012_4_18_50_pm.jpg

But as you stated you replace that board 4 weeks ago then it helped for 4 weeks..I think the board you replace is used or refurbish not brand new right?..Because some of used/refurbish board is not long last but some are last a year/s..Try if you see the leak, bulged or dome on the top capacitors on that board try to replace it so you don't need to buy the board again..But if you don't see the bulged capacitors on that board try to replace the whole board again but its better if you look for brand new..Because some faulty capacitors are no indication but the value is change..

To learn more about capacitors just watch this video:

Hope it helps:

just keep on touch to fix your TV and get back the excellent quality of your TV again..

regards,
Chester.

What capacitor do i need to replace the old ones in DMR-E85R to fix the problem with "please wait"

Best bet is to replace all of the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply one by one, noting original capacitance values, and voltages (capacitance values are marked in µF as well as their voltage on their jackets), uprating the value/voltage where necessary, and observing polarity (the negative pole is marked by a stripe down one side of the cap, and replacements should have this opposite the + symbol on the board) when fitting new ones in the PSU.

It may also require replacement of IC1, a 12V 5 pin IC regulator, since this may have been partially damaged by the increased output voltage of the failing electrolytic caps in close proximity to it. This device has its type number (prefixed by STR) on its face, and should be available from Panasonic. Make sure if you order a replacement, that it is for THIS MODEL only, and that it is for the power supply in this unit.

Before you go out and buy a whole bunch of new electrolytic capacitors (available from most electronics stores including Radio Shack etc), take a visual look at the power supply (unplug unit from power point, and carefully remove the power board.) Examine it carefully, and note each capacitor that you can the value/voltage of - write it down, and obtain the closest replacements of each. Don't panic if you can't get a 20V 680µF, use a 25V 1000µF instead.

The total cost depends on how many electrolytic capacitors require replacing, but it is best to replace ALL of them one by one, to ensure reliability of the circuit they are in, in this case, the power supply. Don't worry about the IC regulator or any other parts just yet, do the caps first, as these are not terribly expensive, before taking any further action.
