Question about Car Audio & Video

Open Question

I have an older car with a Clarion DXZ555MP installed in it. I have read about the auxillary input. Where can you access it, or is it an optional wiring addition ?

SOURCE: I have no CD changer and want to use this audio

Any audio source with 3.5mm out jack can be connected to this input, eg. cd player, ipods, cellphones etc.

SOURCE: Check engine light comes on

This was taken but a geniric scanner. With out knowing the make year and model of your truck including the engine size and the cuntry yout in I can only guess. This code refers to the gas pedal and the two sensers in the pedal assembly. It's possible that the pedal assembly is just dirty or the connector is dirty or loose. But cleaning the senser is not a good idea as a new pedal assembly is theway the dealer is going to fix it and you can too. The computer needs to be reset with a sanner too asa it's sopossed to be repaired before resetting thcomputer disconnectiung th battry will not reset set anything except the radio.

How do you get to the auxillary channels or the channel where the DVD player or video games would go? I have a DVD player hooked up to the TV, but it only goes from channels 2-69 with no auxillary/video...

Do you have the original remote? If you do, you need to press the input button (on the left below 7 and above the DVD controls). The external device must be on before you scroll through the available inputs. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the OnScreen Menu has an option to toggle the Input (since there is a Menu button on the TV it would work around the issue).

A substitute remote that should access all of the TV features including the Input is available here: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=32V420T&brand_pn=RCA_32V420T&mode=large&uuid=12787350637590

I hope this helps.

Clock setting for Clarion DXZ555MP Radio / CD Player.

Just go to the website and click on the 'download manual' link on the right side. Here is the page on Clarion USA, for your cd player.

There you can download your owners or installation manual in PDF for free. Nice to deal with a company like them isn't it?

DXZ555MP Problem

I'm sorry to say, but you damaged the radios power supply. You blew out a capacitor or a solid state device. These radios cannot take even an instant reversal of power, as it takes micro seconds to blow something solid state out. This radio, you will probably have to replace. Good Luck

Maybe the owners manual would help. It says you can adjust the sensitivity of the AUX input through a menu. It sounds like the AUX sensitivity is just set to max. Look for the 'to change other settings' chapter, instructions are in there.
If you don't have the manual, find it on the official website.
