Brother cs6000i thread tension issue

Logically, the top thread should not be affected by a walking foot as the thread operates independently of the presser foot.

Suggest removing the top thread totally from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct.

Check that your walking foot is installed correctly--the fork-shaped piece needs to encircle the needle clamp screw.

If you continue to experience problems with the walking foot but none of the other feet, recommend contacting a Brother technician.

Upper thread keeps braking on brother galaxie 2100

With the pressure foot in the up position, pull on the thread right before the eye of the needle to ensure its not getting snagged up on anything.

Make sure your top tension dial is in the middle setting (usually 4 or 5)

What type of thread are you using? Cheaper thread such as Coats and Clark and old thread is very weak. Check out your local independent sewing dealer and have them recommend thread to you based upon the fabric your using.

hope that helps,
Chris

The wrong loops are on the surface of the material that I've sewn

Loops on the top of the fabric are usually caused by the bobbin thread not in the bobbin case tension correctly, remove the bobbin and reinstall it. You should feel a slight resistance when you pull on the bobbin thread.

What thread do I use with the brother cs600i

Any quality sewing thread - Coats & Clarks is the most readily available.

Never use hand quilting thread or button thread as it is glazed and that is not good for the tension mechanism.

You can use machine embroidery thread for the decorative stitches. Base a tear away stabilizer under the area you will be stitching. This will help keep the fabric from distorting and the stitches uniform.

Test all the features before applying to a project.

Brother sewing machine cs6000i. Less than one year. The upper thread wraps around the bobbin caseing and jams.

check you tension on the top thread and see if you have it threaded the right way. Also see if the indent of your needle "the indent down by the hole on the needle" is facing the hook by your bobbin case that grabs the thread when it comes around.
