Quick release lets the pressure out in a matter of seconds. Natural release lets the pressure drop as the cooker cools without releasing any steam. Different recipes call for one or the other to be done at the end of the cooking time. If yours says let pressure drop naturally you can check to see if it has dropped or not by briefly and CAREFULLY using the quick release method. If steam shoots out the pressure has not dropped yet.

SOURCE: Ingersol T30 won't shut off and blows pressure release valve

the wire juction box on your compressor has a pressure switch that may be wound in to tight take the cover off the box there should be a switch with a machine screw with nut and washer and spring back this nut off and see if that helps if you go to far you just crank it back in until the switch hit although it may be the other way around you may have to tighten to lower the pressure some of them are made that way if this does not solve your problem send me a picture of the switch and can solve it from there

I have an all clad pressure cooker I need to know how long to cook a 5 pound pork roast for pork tocos

Hi Sharon! If you want the seasonings to get all thru the meat, I would cut it into about 6 pieces. Add your seasonings and cook it for 20 - 25 minutes. I have been cooking for 50 years and bought one of the electric digital pressure cookers. Liked it so much I bought another one. I made a pork roast about 2 weeks ago and I cooked mine for 25 minutes, It was so tender I could pull it apart with dinner forks. The seasonings I used were fresh diced onions ( 1 med) 2 cloves fresh garlic diced, salt and pepper to taste. Hope this helps.

My cooker keeps releasing pressure during cooking & there is therefore no pressure to release at the end of the cooking process resulting in uncooked food

Your valve is leaking. You may be able to replace it or repair it. It is usually easier to replace the cooker, unfortunately. Sorry.

Steam release doesn't work

When the cooker is reaching pressure, the valve should point to the dot, and after pressure cooking, you turn the valve towards release. The valve will feel quite loose, but it if it's in the wrong position when the cooker is reaching pressure then the cooker cannot build, and consequently will not release, pressure.

Here is the manual if you need more information on how to operate the cooker:

My new IMUSA pressure cooker won't open... HELP!!!!!!! There's food in the pressure cooker

There is a little nob on top of the lid. It is a pressure release valve. Some how it stuck that is why the lid could not be opened. Try to turn it to release the pressure then return the cooker or exchange with a new one.
