Question about Apple Computers & Internet
I have no experience with apple products so please forgive my ignorance. I can't get the computer to access the wifi card or anything
You should be able to turn WiFi on and connect to a WiFi access point by opening the System Preferences application and then clicking on the "Network" icon. System Preferences can be found in the Applications folder or perhaps the Utilities sub-folder. On newer Macs it is also in the Apple Menu.

Are you using Windows XP or Vista? If windows XP, make sure that you have the latest service pack 2 and hotfixes. Go to Start All Programs/ Windows Updates to update. Note that this is very common if you do not have the latest updates for Windows XP. And I would say that if it works on other computers, it definitely software related; either computer is not up to date, Version of itunes or Driver issue/corruption. Has it ever worked on that computer? If it has, Then just run a system restore to when it last worked and that should take care of it. Let us know if any of these works for you.

The software update is the problem. When you updated the software, did you check to see if there was any encryption as well. Other hotspots usually are unencrypted connections. If you are encrypted and the settings are wrong, just go to the router and find them out. Enter those in the touch.
