Question about Sony Computers & Internet
Good afternoon, I am in possetion of the above stated machine. Last week when attempting to turn on the machine everything appeared normal until the dialog screen of Send Data appeared. The dialog box said send data now NUMBER:51 BLOCK:1. The system will just sit there unless cancel is pushed. Pushing cancel will abort the parameter send and launch Sony Millgen however none of the features on the MPG will function, in addition no zero return moves can be executed.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Lost Memory and Map Data
I just spoke with Garmin and they walked me through correcting the problem - very helpful. It is a matter of resetting the unit. Turn unit off, then press a finger tightly against the bottom right hand corner of screen, holding it while turning unit on. When screen comes up, let go of power button but still pressing bottom right hand corner of screen, answer question regarding deleting defaults. It is tricky and may have to be done a couple times. Then you will answer questions regarding time zones, etc. When finished with this, turn unit off and go outside in order for the unit to re-aquire satellites. When all four bars on upper right hand corner turn green, you're back in business - or at least it worked for me. Hopefully this will help, but you may want to call Garmin as they are really helpful and can explain it better than I can. Good luck!

SOURCE: dbx Driverack PA LCD problem
I just read in another forum that the LCD display appearing black (but backlit) could be due to the ribbon connectors being loose behind the screen.
You would have to open the unit to check...
However, this would most likely void your warranty if your unit is still under one.
Hope this works...

The error refers to the SMART system (read more about it).
Your hard drive may be getting ready to fail or you may have received a false error message (which can occur). If possible go into the bios/CMOS and disable the SMART system so that you may be able to boot normally. Once booted you need to make a backup of your data immediately.
If you are unable to boot the machine even after disabling SMART you may need to replace the hard drive and hook the old one up either externally (the preferred method) or as a slave so that you may backup the data on it.
