Go to www.magellangps.com. Click on "Support" on the top of the screen. On next page, go to "Product Support and Updates" on the right and enter the "Family" (Magellan RoadMaster Series) and the Model should automatically pop in the box (Magellan RoadMaster 1200 - US). Then, click "Submit". On the next page, go to "Manuals" and select "In English" and click. The manual will automatically start to download. Hope this helps...

turn off your unit with the slide switch on the top. Hold down the repeat button or the one beside the slide switch and then put the slide switch back to the on position. Then select hdd tools then format. exit out and turn the switch off and back on and it should work

Here is how to reset your 1340, 1440, or 1470:
Go to the system menu:
On the menu bar ( the top bar where it says Sytem Settings) Tap left corner twice, right corner twice, left corner once, right corner once. It will bring up a hidden menu. The first thing on the hidden menu is reset for first use. Press that and you have done the equivalent of a hard reset.

SOURCE: reset button for a magellan
Magellan RoadMate models 1340, 1440, and 1470 are normally reset as follows:
The reset button is located on the right side of the unit. Press a blunt object like a long-shaft ballpoint pen or a cut off toothpick
into the small hole and hold for approximately 15 seconds. The unit should do a fresh reboot. Sometimes these GPS units can be reset by holding the Power button down for 10-15 seconds to completely shut the unit down. Then, do the same procedure for 10-15 seconds again, to power it back on.
Also, here's another procedure you really only try as a last resort, if the unit is on, but acting up with various menus and functions. Use this very carefully...
While on the main Menu Bar at "System Settings", tap the left corner twice, right corner twice, left corner once, and finally, right corner once. You will see a 'Hidden' menu with a "Reset for first use". Press that option and the unit will perform a hard reset. Hopefully, you can continue all you setups from this point.
Also you can download a complete manual from this link:
The manual won't tell you all these little tricks, so it might be a good idea to make a hard copy of these notes (in case you ever need them again...lol). I hope this helps. Please let me know how it turns out, and contact me if you need further help.
