SOURCE: Onkyo RC-649M remote

Remove any screws you can see and pry the case open. you will see a rubber pad and a circuit board. Clean both with alcohol and dry. reassemble and it should be OK

SOURCE: The Vol button on my Onkyo RC-588M remote doesn't work

It probably can be fixed. Dirt and such gets on the contact pads...take it apart by carefully unscrewing it and remove the top half with the buttons facing you. You will likely see that the buttons are made of molded sheet of silicone, lift that off. Beneath where the mold was for the volume control you will see the actual buttons that control the volume, inspect it to see if it simply got pressed down too far and try to operate it that way and clean anything that needs it while you have it open. If it works without the silicone button cover panel on it, then you can take a small peice of paper wad and tuck it into the mold for the volume button so that when you press on it, it always makes contact.

SOURCE: need the 4 digit code

Hi,
Here are some remote codes for Kenwood Receivers.
The codes are as follows: One of them should work
0027, 0077, 0313, 0186, 0314, 0356

Here is a link to a web site that has universal codes for remotes.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-amp.shtml#amp

Hope this helps,
Best Regards,
Mark

If you have a Kenwood receiver and a Kenwood remote, does it have a receiver button (RCVR)? If so you should not need to do any programming

I have a Kenwood RC-DV330.The battery was disconnected and it is now asking for a password in which i do not know.Is there any way to reset this

I have only the genaral rule, I dont know the particulars.
Kenwood used to have preset passwords as 1234
pressing the stop button ( if you have one ) for 30 seconds.
As i said these are general rules for reseting but I'm not familiar with your model
( buy Yamaha )

Amplifier will only put out "faint" music, etc, even when the volume is turned all the way up

This may sound silly, but please check to be sure that the tape monitor switch in not engaged. Update this if that is not the problem.
