I'd gaurantee, although I don't know which as there are tens of thousands, a corrupt or an actual worm in one of the explorer extensions.

Also Verclsid.exe validates all shell extensions before they are started. Check out this MS article on programs which if installed will cause just what you are seeing:

I installed my lexmark 2600 printer and there is no icon on my desktop screen, help

Maybe you have to reboot to get it on the desktop. Does the printer work if you opened a document and tried to print to it? If not, reinstall it.

Is it in your program list? Click Start/Programs or Start/All Programs and look for the Lexmark Folder. If it is there, then you can Right Click on any item inside the folder and select Send To/Desktop (Create Shortcut) to send it to the desktop.

When i try to download anything it says "can not create temp folder archive" what does that mean and what can i do to correct it

Hi there,

When downloading, don't click on "run" in the 1st dialog box, "save" the files to the Desktop, then open the folder where u saved it and right click on it and choose "run as administrator", if possible.

That should do it.

Best Regards,

How to download from the internet to a folder

Right click an empty space on your desktop. Then from the pop-up window slide down to New and then click Folder. The folder will be created on your desktop. Name the folder Downloads. Now when you download anything place it in that folder. There you can scan the file for virus or spyware with your security programs by right clicking the file you downloaded.

Problem started when I tried to right click a folder. It locked up PC(hour glass just kept turning) I have to go to task manager to shut it down. Now it seems to happen almost anytime I click a folder to...

Have you tried using System Restore? Just set your computer back to before the problem started. You'll lose anything you downloaded or installed since then, but your files will be fine.

Cant access me please!

Well it could be a permission issue. Did you do all your updates once you reinstalled your xp copy? Try right clicking on the folder, and select run as administrator. Set your permissions to allow all. The click apply and ok then close the window and navigate away from your folder so it resets. Then try accessing the folder again. Let me know if this works for you.

How to delete a folder of files in MS Works but not the files?

Right click on the folder then click delete; comfirm then once deleted see if it messes anything up with MS works, if not go into the Bin and empty recycle bin; if there is an error you probably deleted the wrong file, just simply go into the recycle bin and restore all items.
