Question about Candy Washing Machines

Open Question

Candy GO482 leaks water from bottom front left hand side.

I have checked all hoses are fitted correctly, cleaned and checked filter, no holes in doorseal, tightened door seal fastenings, no blockages in waste hose. Seems to just leak every time there is water in the drum. Does not flood upon filling only. Machine is 6 years old and has been well used carbon brushes replaced several times. Could the casing around drum have cracked causing the leak? Any ideas?

SOURCE: water leaking from bottom front panel

Plug off the wall. Open the back of the machine to take a good look at the tube coming out from the bottom of the tub, open the front door to see if the door washer is loose somewhere. You could even try to reach out thru the back to locate any loose rubber gasket, the door gasket that is...... Possible you could take out the top of the machine to see if any of the normal 3 tubes entering your dispenser has come loose.....

SOURCE: Clean water coming out of sides

Hoover SteamVac Ultra (model F5883-900) Threw it away, and had to buy a new machine. Sorry, but I found it more difficult to deal with the housing unit on the machine and just couldn't deal with it anymore. I hope you have better luck than I did with it. I couldn't find ANY help on ANY web sites for this model, just too old I guess.

SOURCE: Front loader washer leaks from bottom center of door osmetimes

Check inside the door on the bellows gasket to make sure the inlet area (normally at the 10 o'clock position) is properly positioned around the water inlet, sometimes these work themselves off the inlet nozzle and can casue a leak when the washer is filling up.

Also, carefully run your hand around the bellows gasket to see if you can find any small holes that cold be letting water leak out. You'll need a flashlight to make this easier. It is hardly ever the hinges that causes a leak since the hinges are mounted outside of the door seal gasket (bellows gasket) and aren't ever exposed to the water.

The drain pump motor and water recirculation motor connected to a hard plastic "housing" is in that area of the machine. The hoses connected to those parts along with the motors and housing will need to be visually inspected. That involves removing the top and front of the machine to get down there and see if there is any obvious cracks or holes in those parts. My candy cnw136t won't drain. Could it be blocked somehow or is it more likely to be a drain pump and hose problem? I know where to buy a new pump and hose, but can these be DIY fitted or is it too...

Hi from retired Englishman in France,

You're right- either blocked or pump malfunctioning.

1) POWER OFF!
2) HAVE A RECEPTACLE FOR WATER AVAILABLE!

After the above is to check the drain (pump) filter- easily done. Normally to be found behind a round panel at the bottom front. Turn anticlockwise and often the filter itself comes out attached to the panel. Once out cleaned it. It is normally possible to see and turn the drain pump by hand/finger.
NORMALLY a) by taking the whole of the front panel off the pump is visible and accessible and b) no specialists tools are required i.e. it is DIY.

Good luck,

John C

MOST OF THE TIME IT IS A HOSE THAT HAS RUBBED A HOLE IN IT OR THE DOOR BOOT DRAIN HOLE. THE HOSE IS ATTACHED TO THE BOOT BOTTOM CENTER OF THE BOOT AND HAS A SHORT HOSE THAT RUNS BACK TO THE TUB..

It's leaking

Mine was leaking from the front left freezer side. I removed the tray at the bottom and saw that there is a drain hole in the back. I removed the sheet of ice that was covering the drain hole and poured vinegar and hot water to unclog it. That was the problem all along! The drain hole was clogged causing the water to drip out of the front. Whew!

I bought a candy go482 4 weeks ago.it is leaking water from underneath and i cont know why??/

Depends on where it's coming from. One thing you can check are the water inlet hoses. If they're not on tight enough, or the threads are crossed and there isn't a seal, water can run down the back, and through any openings on the back panel onto the floor. Another possibility is there's a leak from the drain pump, or the hose connecting the tub to the drain pump. Your best bet is: CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER!! It is brand-new and under warranty.

Leak from bottom of fridge

Two things might be happening. One is the line to the fridge is leaking, this line come thru the floor or wall to the bottom and hooks up to a water valve, it may just need tightening. The other problem is you will have a hose that runs from the filter down in behind the crisper drawers to the bottom and coils up here to hold water for cold use. it then runs thru the bottom pan out to the front, to the bottom door hinge on the freezer side up the door to the dispencer. Check along the hose for a pin hole look at the bottom hinge area first, things bump into it here and can damage the plastic cover.

Water is leaking from soap dispenser only at beginning of cycle

Remove dispenser drawer, and check for soap blockage.
Locate and clean filter, check to see if there is one located behind bottom kick strip, if no filter there, then you will have to remove lower rear cover of washer, and locate and remove the large black hose on bottom of tub.
Remove filter and plastic ball, clean and replace.
Refit filter, ball and hose ,ensuring it is fitted correctly.
Test for leaks.
Plz ratev my solution.
Thanks.

Water leak

Remove the lower panel under the washer door and inspect the interior. The panel is removed by loosening and removing the screws under the bottom front edge. With the screws removed the panel will drop down, then off. Inspect the following areas:

- Check all hoses for leaks, cracks, holes and loose connections. Check the seal where the drain hose from the bottom of the wash tub connects to the intake of the drain pump. Make sure the drain hose from the pump to the standpipe is connected snug to the pump and is not leaking.
- Check the drain pump to ensure it is not leaking. The clean out reservoir cap (if not fitted properly) can leak around the seal.
- Check the door bellow (gray rubber boot) to ensure it is not leaking. HINT: A tale-tell sign of bellow leakage is wetness showing up on the front washer counterweight. This is a concrete block mounted to the front of the wash tub. It is not supposed to be wet.
- Check the pressure switch air hose to ensure it is connected to the air dome on the side of the wash tub. This is a small rubber hose that runs from the pressure switch in the top left rear of the washer (viewed from the back, with the washer top panel removed) to the bottom right hand side of the wash tub. However, if this hose were to come off the air dome fitting, the wash tub would continously try to fill and water would begin to pour from the bottom of the wash tub. If this does not sound like your symptoms, disregard this step.
- Check the seam where the wash tub shells meet. There is a rubber tub gasket that seals the two tub halves together. If the seal is bad, water will begin to collect and drip along this seam.
- Check the tub for cracks. This is NOT common, but it can happen.

The following link explains the step-by-step process of checking and cleaning the drain pump:

I mention this link, because it gives you some guidance on how to access the pump and how avoid the possible mess involved with water pouring out of the pump.

If you discover the door bellow as the the cause for your leak, please refer to this link:

I hope this leads you in the right direction and helps you resolve your problem. Please post back if you have any further questions.

Water coming from bottom of machine

If this only happens when the machine is filling the hose leading to the top of the tub may be leaking. Before it fills this hose is disconnected from the water supply by a closed solenoid valve. There are two valves which feed into a common hose that comes up to the top of the tub where the water runs into the tub. The leak does not happen after the tub fills because all the water leaks out and no new water runs in. These hoses are usually very small and very inexpensive and held on with clamps. They can usually be replaced by removing a small panel near the hose attachment location.
