Also, when I attempt to view the printer series (right-mouse click » Epson WP 4020 Series) nothing happens afterwards. Lastly, when I try to get the driver update, it tells me, "To check for updates, make sure that the printer is turned on and that there are not outstanding print jobs. Before beginning, make sure that your computer is connected to the Net." Yep, check positive for that one... Attempting to print via Wi-Fi; however, I am absolutely clueless on how to accomplish that. Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

Let me first explain that the scanning softwareis seperately loaded into the computer which is called as Digital Imaging. Try the step below:
1. try scanning from scanners and cameras - 2 errors might pop up if it does not scan - an error occurred communiating with the scanning device / no HP device detected.
2. start - programs - locate for a software loaded called HP Solution Centre / HP Director.Open the software if loaed and try to scan from there. If its not loaded then insert th installation cd and click on Install more software - full.
3. In HP solution Centre / Director click setting - scan settings - scan to ..... setup - see that both the columns of front panel and available destination list should be having some icons into it (you can add and delete from any column as desired - but none should be empty)

I had the same problem with HP 1018 printer, when I had two computers connected to a domain and had Windows XP SP3 on them and when I shared the printer on one of them - I could only print from the network if the user belonged to the Local Administrators group on the host/server computer. Once the network user is removed from Administrators - the print jobs are stuck in print queue. I used the "HP LaserJet Host Based Print Driver Package" that is on HP web site for HP laserjet 1018 printer.
Then I tried to use a different driver for that printer and was successful with driver for HP LaserJet 1020. After forcing that printer to use the 1020 drivers, the regular users were able to print to that printer.

If you have meticulously followed the installation instructions for installing the printer (it does matter the order in which the installation steps re accomplished), then the problem may lie in how the printer is connected to the computer (serial/USB/bluetooth/wireless). If USB, try using a different USB cable (rare, but one of the wires within the cable itself may not have continuity). If you've ruled out the cable, you could try looking for an updated driver on the Epson website. That could be the problem also.

You might have to uninstall the printer restart your computer then reinstall your printer
click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port
you might see a yellow question / exclamation ? ! mark or a red X this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click to update driver
select properties again you will have the similar options also you can troubleshoot the device
you might have many prints backed up ((make sure you have the printer turned off)) otherwise it might print another page
if you have multiple prints in the queue you will have to open a file that you are about to print click ok a page will open with a
display print queue tab you can see all prints right click on the ones you don't need select cancel
