You mean the scan head? There should be a transport latch that physically locks the head for moving the machine. Have to look in the vasinity of the where the head rests and see if there is a knob or lever whith empbossed instruction sign or label

Print head parked at left, error code 3527

This problem has plagued me for a very long time. The issue is that the printer head is "glued" in the resting position under the guard of the printer, so you can't remove the ink cartridges to clean it. Solution is to (I know this sounds stupid, but it works) turn the printer on the side where the printer cartridges are (if they are stuck on the left side, turn the printer on its side so the cartridges are on the bottom). Turn the printer on, and the cartridges magically start moving! I guess there are some sensors that get tricked out when you tip the printer on its side. If the cartridges are still stuck, click the "ok" button, and before it gets a chance to see if you actually fixed the problem, turn the printer off using the power button. It takes a long time, but you should see the ink trap lower (release the ink cartridges) and the ink cartridges start moving to prepare for shutdown! Grab the cartridges when they move out of their hiding place and don't let them go back until you clean the print head so it doesn't get stuck again. Remove the ink cartridges, then push the grey tab to release the print head. Wipe the bottom of the print head clean with rubbing alcohol (it will have a lot of gooey - sticky ink stuck on the bottom). I used nail polish remover since I didn't have rubbing alcohol available. You can also wipe down the ink pad which is where the ink cartridges were previously jammed to clean up more of the mess and prevent this sort of thing happening again too soon. Good luck!

My mp760 says incorrect print head or remove foreign object from printer but i can't see anything stuck in there.

Make sure that there is no piece of paper stock between the print head and the side of the printer, the print head is the assembly that runs left to right during printing, you may find a paper or other object blocking the assembly from complete the travel to the right or the left. If all clear you need to replace the print head assembly.
Good luck.

Model MFC-215C Cannot clean Peinter head stuck on Right side

Hi

Power off the priter.Locate the lever on the right side of the top cover. Pull this lever to open the top. Remove the print cartridge by pulling on its attached release lever. You will now see the printer head.
Clean the printer head by wiping it with a lint free cloth moistened lightly with rubbing alcohol. Replace the print cartridge when the printer head is dry. Replace the cartridge by inserting one end and tilting the other end into the printer until it clicks.
Close the top cover of the printer by pressing down on both sides until the top clicks. Your printer will work now.

it is very easy. Remove the print carts then on the left and right side of the ink holder is a small loop at the end of a wire. Move that to the side and pull it up. Do the same for the other side. Next pull out the print head that these two wires were holding in place.
-------- This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Epson R320 "General Error" message - unable to clear

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your Epson printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Fix 'Carriage Jam' : Open Door, clear carriage jam,
and then press OK to continue' error message
Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Printer does not power up

My Canon IP3000 would not turn. It turned out to be the Print Head. It had burnt out and gone short circuit. This caused the built in power supply to shut down, hence, the printer appears dead.

Now, how do you get the Print Head out when it is locked down on the left side (your right side if facing the printer)? Open the top lid and inside you will see a chrome sharft, about 10mm in diameter, that the Print Head slides along. Put you finger under this bar and lift it 3 to 4mm. It's under spring tension. The Print Head will also rise, releasing it from the lock. With your other hand, slide the Print Head to your left. You can now release the bar and move the Print head freely.

To confirm the fault, try to power up the printer with the Print Head removed. Don't forget to put the lock bar down first, to stop it hitting the cover when it tries to go home.
