First thing make sure the lead cable is as straight as possible. and make sure the wire has a unobstructed path. then you should check the trigger input/output switch and see if the switch is getting power to it continuously. I hope this help please rate this thank you

SOURCE: i have a miller S-62
The switch in the trigger must have collapsed or the contacts have welded themselves closed. Strip the torch and check the trigger switch, it will probably have to be replaced, these things are seldom repairable.
