What happens when you use your cell-phone to dial the telephone-number of the FAX?
Does the number "ring" in your ear?
Does the display-panel on the HP show "incoming call" or "answering" ?

Fax sends certain pages in duplicate

If it only happens with that one vendor, the problem is almost certainly either on their end or somewhere in the interaction between the two fax machines.

The most likely answer is that their fax machine has a problem receiving some pages (either because the line is noisy or for another reason) so it has to reprint them. You could tell your vendor to try turning off error correction on their fax machine and see if that makes a difference.

Hope that helps.

Need access code to fax long distance, just started happening.

That would usually be your telephone service provider not the fax machine, if it is a business line, the permissions may have been changed. Check with your business communication administrator, or your local phone service provider.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi, Remote Fax Error being displayed

What happens if you dial the remote fax number as a voice call on another phone? Does that number pick up? Does it give you the modem handshake noise? If not, the remote side has a problem.
Can you fax other numbers? What happens when you dial your own fax line from another phone? If your fax does not pick up and talk to you, your fax may have a problem.

Phone calls get cut off and fax goes into recieve mode

If you are using the fax as both for calls and receiving faxes make sure you have the fax set up to FAX/TEL mode. This should solve your problem.
