SOURCE: '07 5403 John Deere Tractor lift arm will not lower

some-times the 3pt linkage can go past the top position.

When this happens - you will need to force! the linkage arms down.

SOURCE: I have a lawn mower

Larry,

I have a Troy built x20 lawn tractor and the lift cylinder moves until the weight of the blade is on it and then it stops. Sounds like we have the same problem. Any luck with yours? ANy answers out there. Again, the cylinder will move raise and lower until the weight of the blade is applied. The left to right cylinder will move but very slowly. Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated.

the deck lifts as a unit so if one side stays down check for faulty lever and bracket adjustment on the bad side
the actuating arm on that side may be loose on the lever shaft

Is there a way to operiate the hydro to raise and lower with out the PTO spinning

If your tractor does not have "live pto", then neither the pto shaft, nor lift arms when the clutch is depressed.
I don't think any 2n's, 9n's, or 8n's came equipped with a live pto.
Hope this helped.

LIFT ARMS FOR 3 POINT HITCH WILL NOT MOVE, NOT SURE WHAT CONTROLS OPERATE

Standard tractors have a lever to the right of the driver, move toward the rear of the tractor to lower ... move toward the front to lift.

How to adjust the mower deck on my murray rider,

Park the tractor on a firm, level surface. . .
At the lower end of the lift/lower travel slot, there should be a plastic cover which you pop up so that your blade lift handle goes all the way down (it should say something about blade level on there somewhere. . . . .
After you have the handle in this position, look at the front lift arms of the mower deck and find the 2 large wing nuts, one on each side. . . . .
Loosen these while the deck is down and then retighten them Your deck is now level and will lift to its highest recommended position when you raise the lever
