Re: battery

Try getting a universal plug in for your house and plug it in and charge it up just be sure that the transfomer is a step down to 12 volts dc . also the data (usb) up date plug i hear can be used on your pc at home to charge you battery. this is what i tried and both worked. also dont let the unit stay in the car with sub zero temps, that seems to hurt the battery.
good luck

Re: battery

As already suggested, there is no internal charger with the i3, the reason you have the choice between nihm and alkaline batteries is so the unit can give an accurate batterie life

TomTom Rider unit wont charge. Tried mains charger, USB connector and bike charger. Swapped out the battery and the unit boots up but that is just the charge in the new battery. Any help appreciated.

Power board is faulty, repair or replace. Workshop repair required. Oh, stop plugging a charger into the USB socket. It doesn'tlike it, thats for data transfer only. The round pin socket is the charger port

My rino won't charge

Two things occur to me: possible damage to socket where charger connects to unit------or no voltage from charge source to the battery

A lot of the connectors where the unit connects to power are easily damaged.

Charger not shutting off

Some chargers contain a computer chip that automatically shuts off the unit when a battery is fully charged. Other models continue to charge as long as the unit is on. Review the instructions for your particular charger to ascertain whether you'll have to manually turn off your 3-in-1 charger.

No battery status in the screen of Garmin 255. I just bought a new Garmin 255, before charging, it can not on, meaning, the battrey is empty, that is fine. Pluging the car charger, the unit can turn...

The battery status only shows up when the satnav is disconnected from the charger. Your first charge should be a continuous charge until the battery is full. This can be done by connecting it to your computer for 8 hours approximately or 4 hours to your car cigarette lighter socket or 4 hours to an, optional extra, mains charger.

I cannot get the unit to chage it is asr# 10r-024462

If you mean your gps is not charging, then you need to try a new charger on it. Once you try a now charger and it is still not working, connect it to a computer to see if it will charge. If it does not charge on the computer also, then you need to try out another battery.
Before you buy another charger or battery, first borrow a well tested charger and battery and try it out on the gps, whichever you find to be the problem, then you can replace it with a new one, and if you find out that none of them is faulty, then it means there is a bad connection or something is wrong internally.

Low Battery notice kept coming on

TRY RESETTING THE UNIT - Also - charge the unit over night with a WALL CHARGER - this helped when mine pulled that same stunt. Eventually it went away after charging it over night in the wall. Here's how to reset -it just puts everything back to factory settings - 1- Turn unit on WHILE HOLDING your thumb in the lower right corner as shown in picture. 2-Select YES 5770b9e.jpg

Gps wont turn on without it being connected to chargers

This means that the internal battery of the gps system is completely dead and can not hold a charge. All you will need to do is replace the battery and it should work like new. The battery is fairly cheap to buy and replace.

Sounds like you both have a battery problem. I experienced a similar problem when trying to charge via the USB-cable connected to my computer.
Ended up buying an original charger (expensive) and the charging went smooth.
The car charger should in any case work fine, so probably your battery is not very healthy.

Try holding your finger on the battery symbol for about 10 sec. The unit will then switch to a technical page. There you can observe the battery and charging voltage. When I plug in my computer USB-cable, I read around 4,4V and that is not sufficient for charging my battery.
When connected to the original charger, this voltage rises to about 5V which gives a nice charge. When unplugging charger, the unit displays the battery capacity. If the charging voltage is OK, but battery capacity drops quickly after you unplug charger cable, the battery is probably bad. (Of course you have to charge is for some time) I think around 4V battery voltage give 100% capacity. 3,9V gives about 90% capacity.
This will not solve your problem, but can give you an idea about what is wrong.
Good luck.

Nuvi 200 GPS

We did not have a charger to plug in the GPS to charge, so my husband plugged it into a battery charger. I guess the battery charger was low, so it drained the unit rather than charging it. It was so low it would not come on again. I have an electric charger that adapts the car charger into AC current, so I tried that and the unit came on. Problem solved and the GPS is working again. Thanks for responding.
