I have asked sky if their new sky Q booster would sort this issue out as I have read that the new router is not much different to the older version. Cheers

their are all sorts of boosters can buy online ,walmart,best buy,target etc depending on your wifi and location of your eather net may not need one if you can move router to different location closer to shop may not need one

It depends on the Rev. number of your remote. Older Sky remotes are programmes for different models compare to new ones.

A surerfire way to set this up is to use the Sky "Program my Remote" feature from the Sky box itself (it's in the Help menus), or direct from the Sky web page: http://sky.uebv.com/ Each way will ask you to chec k the revision (rev) number from the sticker inside the battery compartment.

There are different software versions to the remote, try a newer version of the remote. I Have one old remote that wont work with my tv because its older than my tv, bought an new model one from ebay programmed the codes exactly as i did for the old, but this one works.

Some things to try:
1) Check the current version of firmware on your WPN824v2. If it is older than version 2.0.26, then try downloading and installing the firmware update to see if this resolves the issue.

2) Check whether disabling IPv6 on both laptops makes any difference. If you need help doing this, please ask me in a reply.

3) Verify that both laptops are using automatic (DHCP) IP address assignment

4) Verify that MAC address filtering is not preventing the second laptop.

This really depends on which brand/model of TV you have and which Sky remote version. The code you need is specific to the brand/model of TV.

The Sky remote version is printed on a sticker inside the battery compartment. The older Sky remotes will have "RC1600/00" on the sticker. Newer versions will also have either "Rev 4", "Rev 6", or "Rev 8" on the sticker.

If you have a new TV and an older Sky remote (i.e. before Rev 8) your remote may not work with your TV and you will need to buy a new Sky remote if you want to operate TV and Sky box with one remote.

Please post back with your Sky remote version number and your TV brand and EXACT model number. I will then be able to provide codes for your remote and programming instructions.

Please note that it is not possible to configure a different router, not provided, by SKY on their network. Sky use MAC authentication on their network and hence it is virtually impossible, unless you spoof the MAC address, to configure a different router on their network.

As time goes on software applications tend to change enough that an older version produced file is not forward compatible with a new version. For instance some of my MS Office files no longer can be opened by the latestr version of "Word", hence Microsoft issued a plug in that will allow you older "Doc " files to be read by the latest version of "Word", same thing holds tru for FLASH program, every time a new version of FLASH comes out, the older version can not be read by it.
You need a version of QuarkXpress that can read this doc, If you created the original document, the you can go to your version of QuarkXpress to open the document or if possible ask the originator of the document what version they used to create the document.

Have you tried different cables or a different port on your router. Is there any way to get into the Hard Drive by connecting it directly to a PC and checking the network settings or anything..? If not, then you may have to connect it directly to a PC and share it to your other PC's.
