Would it be best, to have virus removed before getting new laptop? or keep it?

Sorry not sure what it is you are asking here, do you mean to repair the old computer versus buying a new one? If so then yes repair the old one. Buy a virus software made by Trend Micro systems, it is the best I have ever used. Here is a link to Trend

How can get rid from Thinkpoint

A "Thinkpoint" is a computer-virus. On a virus-free computer, Google-search for 'remove thinkpoint'
to get some good advice.

Or, follow best practises, which state that you can never remove 100% of a computer virus.

So, disconnect the old disk-drive, and purchase a new disk-drive.
Install Windows onto the new disk-drive.
Install anti-virus software on the new disk-drive.
Connect the old disk-drive as a "slave" device.
Copy all your data files from "old" to "new".
Use the anti-virus software to scan the "old" disk-drive.
Completely "wipe" the old disk-drive, and then use it as a "backup" drive,
e.g., once a day/week/fortnight, copy everything from your 'My Documents' folder to that "old" drive.

How to transfer information from a computer that has a virus to a brand new computer

Transfer all the information you want in your new computer into a flash drive or an external hard drive.

Connect it to the new computer and right click on the drive where you can find an option to scan the drive for viruses. Choose that option and once the scan is done if there are any viruses then delete the files and transfer the rest into the system
