Moen two handle kitchen faucet cannot remove cartridge

I am not familiar with that particular model but on most moens there is a type of clip that looks somewhat like a washer in the shape of a horseshoe..... it slides into a groove in the stem of the faucet....... take a wire brush and wd 40 and clean the area ( i am assuming you have removed the faucet handle and crown btw turn water off under sink hot and cold) take a jewlers screw driver and try to slide down between the main part of the faucet and the cartridge.. you can also use a needle nose pliars to get it out then take pliars or vice grips and grab stem and pull out

O.k. I replaced the moen cart.clean out the stem, added plumber lub in the stem ,reinstalled . Still leaks slightly ever time I turn on the single lever where it joins the spout. What should I try next?

Hi, some faucet brands use separate washers, packing, or o-rings to seal around the handle rather than leaks to the faucet head. Moens are one of these. There is a moen handle o-ring kit you can typically find hanging with the moen stems at your local hardware store. I know I sell them at mine. If not they should have an o-ring section where you can match up the correct sizes you'll need. Here's a two part YouTube video that shows where and how to replace these o-rings. Copy and paste them into your browser or google bar. Remove stem of moen shower cartridge,

Moen makes a stem removal tool that angages the 2 ears on the outer portion of the stem. You can order from Moen:
http://www.moen.com/moen/cartridge-removal-tool-for-1200-or-1225-or-1222-cartridges/_/R-COMMERCIAL%3A104421

Or your local home center or hardware store should have one in stock if they carry Moen parts.

Moen Monticello 4-inch centerset bath faucets can be repair easily with only a screwdriver and adjustable wrench. Turn the water off to the both sides of the faucets under the sink. Open both the hot and cold-water valves to alleviate any remaining pressure. Remove the handles by grasping the base of the handle and turning it counterclockwise.( This works for both lever and cross handles). Loosen the Moen faucet cartridge bonnet nut with an adjustable wrench by turning it counterclockwise to the left. Pull the stem from the faucet by hand and replace. Reinstall the bonnet nuts and handles. Turn the water back on and test the faucet for leaks. The Moen Monticello faucet comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Try calling Moen to get your replacement parts free.

I have a single handle Moen shower faucet. Pull to turn on. Turn clockwise for cold. Turn counterclockwise for hot. It does not leak but it is hard as hell to pull out when I turn it on. The house was...

If it is hard to pull out or push in the valve then you will need to replace it. On moen valves you can not rebuild the cartridge you can only replace them. A new cartridge will cost you around 15 to 20 dollars.

Also I would tack the cartridge with you when you gao and buy it because they make 2 different ones.

Good Luck and please rate 4 thumbs up for the free answer

I changed the stem on hot water because shower leaking- now no hot water from shower head when water turned back on- wont pass stem and some spreay from where stem is?

I am not sure what brand of shower valve you have but it sounds like you lost a peice of rubber or plastic in the valve and it has either lodged in the diverter or somwhere from the valve to the shower head. Is it posible that you got the wrong stem or switched stems or maybe it was put in backwards. Wish i could narrow it down for you,Need better info.
