There should be a primer bulb that you would find it near the carburetor. The bulb and 2 tubes may have deteriorated causing it not to work. You didn't mention the make or year, it would be to your advantage to note as much info about your equipment to get better answers.Thanks. You can get replacement parts at Home Depot or True Value Stores or Lowes just to name a few. Any of their clerks can help you with this problem. You will need a model # and serial number if possible.

Westwood t1200 - sparks on pulling cord but engine doesn't start . Was serviced last summer and parked . Fuel +. New carb and plug Ideas please

For an internal combustion engine to run, it needs fuel, air, spark and compression. Since it ran last year it is safe to assume you have good compression. Also, you can assume it has air if it was professionally serviced last fall and was running ok when you put it away.. You have spark so that leaves fuel. The first thing to check is fuel supply. If there is a fuel shutoff valve on the fuel tank or the fuel line leading to the carburetor check to see if it is ON. If the tank has gas and the valve is open or non-existent, then remove the air cleaner and spray a quick shot of starting fluid into the carburetor with the choke open and try starting it again. If it fires but quits, it is a fuel delivery problem. Primary suspect is a plugged main jet in the carburetor from sitting over the winter with oxygenated fuel in it. That is the same type of fuel you put in your car. It oxidizes metals. The jet can get restricted from oxidation (like rust). If that is the case the carb needs to be cleaned professionally. Use non-oxidized fuel in the future and run the engine dry for storage. Keep no more thn a months worth of gas on hand. Hope that helps.

Lawn mower primer button

Mike what i suggest you do is put a small amount of fuel into the block where the spark plug goes. If it doesn't fire after two pull change the plug. Also find the air filter and clean it.

Toro GTS 20332 (bought it 12 months ago) won't run

I believe that Toro Guarantees to start 1 Pull, was gas left in it all winter?, If so this is'nt covered under warranty, cause gas is to be ran out or dumped out at end of season this will prevent any gumming up of carb . did you completely disassemble carb? does it have a primer on it, those gskts need replacing, clean out the jet in bottum of float bowl, small holes, sometimes missed and remove and check your needle/seat to make sure that when float drops gas runs out then lift float up and gas should stop. hope this helped you, another thing spray carb cleaner in carb and pull over and see if it will start that way enough to keep running with choke to see if it will **** gas into it

I have a Craftsman Gold 6.0 mulching mower with a B&S engine on it that has been idle for about 10 years. It was only lightly used before that and I ran the gas tank dry before putting it away. Today...

Sounds like the primer bulb dry rotted from sitting &/or the float is stuck in carb. If gas is indeed leaking from bulb. It will need to be replaced. While it is apart, clean carb inside & out with spray carb cleaner.

Engine starts when primed but stops in seconds. When you push the primer button five times and then pull the rope, the engine starts, but then kills. It's a 6.5 hp on a Toro Recycling GTS mower. I ran it...

it sounds like you have contaminants in the fuel and have clogged the fuel filter or carburetor, try changing fuel filter if there is one and back flush the fuel lines with carb cleaner spray and clean out fuel tank and clean with brake cleaner refill with fresh fuel.

Engine speeds up and slows down

Got a 1/2" or so bolt head on bottom of bowl at carburetor? If yes, carefully loosen it, remove it, lower bowl & look for debris in there & clean it out. careful with small gasket around it.

Fuel leak

The carb/s are flooding , you will have to check the float pin and the float, a good clean with compressed air should do the job, check too the fuel line and the fuel filter.
Hope this helps!
