SOURCE: Dishwasher tripping the circuit breaker

Andy, leave the breaker off and remove the toe panel (bottom panel) from the dishwasher. Remove the cover of the junction box where the cord connection or wiring is made. Look at the wire caps and see if they are not burnt. Sometimes these connections become loose and arch, tripping the breaker. If so, cut the wires, strip a new end and reconnect. The first thing I would do is install a new circuit breaker. That could well be your problem.

SOURCE: led wont light up. no power to dishwasher

Measure for 115 volts AC at the junction box behind the front lower panel where the incoming power connects to the washer wiring. If ok, you will need a wiring diagram of the washer to go further.

My Maytag MDB6160AWW finished its last cycle with a blinking "clean" light. I didn't think much of it. And somehow cleared the lights. When I filled it up and wanted to start a wash it will light up,

Blinking clean light is an error code does it blink 7 time pause then repeat that would be a heat circuit problem fast blinking a stuck key behind the lower panel should be a tech sheet explaining how to determine what the code is

Maytag Bravos MVWB300WQ1. While sitting idle I heard a click and now the machine will not turn on plus it popped the circuit main circuit breaker.

The clicking sound may have been insulation / plastic in one of the electrical components cooling down after failure. The problem is more than likely the motor or lid switch. If you are capable, remove motor wires / plug, insulated same, plug into the power, turn on & see if it trips the circuit breaker. if it does not it is the motor, if it still trips check other electrical components.

No power to the display, dryer will not turn on

First thing you need to do is check the Circuit Breaker for the dryer. If it is tripped unplug the dryer and reset the Circuit Breaker. Now plug in the dryer and try to run it. If it does not work again check the Circuit Breaker again if it is tripped again unplug dryer and call someone that can help you or fix it. If the Circuit Breaker is not tripped check for good power readings on both power lines coming into the dryer. Should have 110V or more on each line to neutral, and 220V or more between each line. If you do not have the correct voltage at each line check Circuit Breaker for good power coming out.

The stove made a popping sound and the circuit breaker popped.i reset the breaker and it popped instantly.

Since you have a gas kitchen range, finding the problem should not be that difficult.

1. Make sure all switches are in the off position. Then reset the circuit breaker. If it didn't trip, then turn one knob on at a time (and then off) until it trips.

2. If the circuit breaker triped with all knobs off, then it would have to be something that is always on like the 12V transformer.

Hopefully, this wiring diagram will be of help.

My maytag neptune dryer is not heating and drying clothes

Hi,
  • Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

  • Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

  • A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.
You can take your unit to nearby service centre if you find all the above are working fine.

It runs but won't heat up.

There's no heat If your dryer doesn't heat, check these: Power from the house Heating element Thermal fuse Wiring Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable. Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.) The under unit light burned out and tripped the circuit breaker. Replaced bulb and reset breaker but light doesn't work. I see there is an internal fuse. Could this be the problem as there is no power...

These remarks are not make and model specific.

Did you test the new light bulb?

I would not normally expect a burned out light to trip a breaker.

You may have a blown fuse. I suspect the fuse you see is to protect the oven. If you popped a breaker, you may have blown a fuse. I'd be looking for a short somewhere, maybe in the wire that powers the light, maybe in the hardwire that supplies the oven.

Make sure you turn the power off before you go poking around. And, above all, avoid the silver can inside, it IS lethal.

Let me know if this helps.

My maytag neptune has no power any suggestions

Check for ~220 volts AC across the two slanted contacts on the dryer power socket. If nothing, check the house electrical panel for tripped dryer circuit breakers(pair)--push the breakers OFF, then ON to reset. Recheck for 220 volts at dryer socket--if ok now, try the dryer. You need to use a voltmeter for this checking. If it starts, then quits, you likely have an internal short (heating element) inside the dryer case that trips the circuit breakers.

30amp trip after getting hot

Look on the unit for the electrical data plate. It should have the required amperage rating on it.
Have the actual amperage being pulled by the unit checked.
You may have improper voltage being supplied to the unit which causes excessive amperage.
The breaker could be weak. Meaning that it may be tripping at an amperage less than 30.
Your wire size may be too small for the circuit which would cause overheating of the circuit and tripping the breaker.
Do not change the breaker to a higher amperage unless the wire size attached to that circuit is rated for it.
A breakers job is to stop power should a overheating of circuit or a short circuit occurs. It protects the circuit from catching fire inside the walls and burning the place down.
Good Luck and I hope this helps.

Washer trips circuit breaker

Is washer relatively new? Check circuit breaker for proper size (20 AMPS). Washer must also be on its own circuit. It appears that when the motor starts up it is causing a spike in current (as with any motor), so the breaker is either undersized (Note that if breaker is undersized and you up it to the next size you would also need to replace the wire with the next size up which would be 12/2 with ground), or if you have had your washer a while which I believe is your case the circuit breaker is weakening and is tripping on the current spike. Try swapping out your circuit breaker with a new one and try running the washer again.
