Whirlpool model-ER2MHKXPL02 serial-ES3330121 water accumulates in fridge portion top shelf. recent problem did not occur til 1 month ago. no ice maker installed. Also some ice in freezer around vent to...

the water is coming from the freezer when is defrosts. the drain line is in the back wall of the freezer and may be clogged up with ice. clean out the freezer and pour some hot water in the very back of the freezer, this will hopefully unclog the drain. if not, then you have to take the back wall out of the freezer to get directly to the drain line. there should just be a couple screws holding it; it is just an aluminum or plastic panel.

Why is water leaking out evey day???

Is the water leaking from the refrigerator compartment or the freezer compartment? Can we assume the "leaking" water is more than some accumulated humidity/moisture (check your door gaskets)? Have you checked all water lines/fittings for the water dispenser/ ice cube maker (if you have one)?

If it is is the freezer section, the problem may be a clogged drain line (is there ice blocking the trough drain hole?) at the bottom of the freezer (evaporator) coils? You may need to defrost the freezer, check for any faulty parts (e.g., defrost time/ADC, defrost thermo, defrost heater), and clean the drain trough/tube. See Refrigerator Defrost Parts for illustrations.

Water is accumulating on the shelfs and bottom under the crisper inside of refrig. water to the ice maker is turned off and has been for years unit is 20 years old and the problem started 6 days...

Water from the defrosting operation is not draining properly in the drain hole. Must be something blocking the drain. To remedy it yall must remove the service panel in the freezer and clear the drain.

GE with top freezer has water accumulating in bottom of frig under the crisper drawers.

Remove the food from the freezer , then remove the icemaker , if it has one ( 2 screws ) . Remove the rear freezer panel . Useing a hair dryer , start in the middle of the drain trough , and defrost until you see the drain hole . Keep defrosting the hole ( hot water helps ) until water will go thru . Use a piece of tubing inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any debris accumulated in drain line .Remove any excess ice from trough . Reassemble freezer .

Water at bottom of refrigirator

Find the drain line from the freezer to the evaporation pan near the motor. Often the line is visible on the back of the fridge. That line is plugged either with food residue or the collection point in the freezer is solid ice. The self defrost feature melts the frost and drains it to the evap pan. If you remove the floor from the freezer area, you will see the collection point. When the line gets plugged with food, no water drains and then freezes to block the line even worse. So, if there is ice at the collection point, remove it somehow, maybe a hair dryer, and then clear the line by blowing compressed air from the bottom of the drain hose through to the collection point.

Water accumulates and freezes in bottom shel

The drain for the defrost is blocked, probably with ice. If drain is frozen it will need to be defrosted, and a heat probe attached to the heat element and down through the drain hole. If not frozen there could be blockage in the drain cup depending on the model.
