Hello Art. If you want to reset your Microwave, we would recommend resetting it by shutting it off from the circuit breaker for at least a minute.

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose conneciton on the control unit circuit board

SOURCE: bulbs won't go out

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

Details of our service and critical safety information and disassembly information is at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Model MH7130xez won't heat. everything else works. the clock, timer and lights. does this model have a fuse?

if unit won't heat, then there is a problem with either the magnetron or the diode. if its the magnetron, the microwave will sound almost normal. if its the diode, it will make a humming sound

I need a circuit board for a MH7130XEZ-1

The printed circuit board (PCB) was part number 4359413 then was superseded by part number 8172053.

It looks like it may be no longer available or at least not through usual sources, but sites like PartStore.com and MandDappliance.com show they can provide it for about $172 to $195.

But depending on the problem, we may be able to repair it with our $39.95 repair service. We repair hundreds on microwave control boards every year.

And we've repaired these.

The relay for the lights is not working. No board level repairs. You will have to replace the control board to get this feature back.

Service to Whirlppol MH7130xez-1, circuit breaker popped then unit went dead

water may have leaked inside unit causing a short.the transformer output is about 1400 volts that feeds a large capacitor. a direct short can blow the transformer instantly or any support parts without time to burn something. creating little or no smell. I never sujest that a person
to try to repair a microwave oven because
the capacitor can still be charged and very lethal.

Door

The door part# is 4359542 if you need the part number. If you need to know how to replace the door check up by the upper hinge on the inside of the door should be a plastic piece that you can remove so if you lift the door off of its hinges. You may or may not need to remove the grill above the door to raise the door high enough

When you open the microwave door, on the inside of the door there is a plastic trim around the glass called a choke that is clipped in that needs to be removed to get to the screws for your handle
