Hotpoint FF72P Fridge Freezer, fridge not cooling

Before changing my the thermistor. Is the Evan fan running? Is their anything blocking the vent? Check those things before replacing the thermistor. If the fan isn't running you have a bad fan or bad control. If something is blocking the vent then you have a clogged drain or need to remove buildup from vent

Should fan run constant on indesit ban12fn fridge freezer?

It should shut off when it reaches the correct temperature. If you have the temp set to low it could cause it to continue to run or if there is an issue with the fridge that could also cause this issue. Keep in mind after a defrost it will take some time for everything to get back to the correct temp so it may run constant for a long time.

Mini Fridge is on but doesn't get cold

Good Afternoon Corey - When any refrigerator is tilted or on its side it needs to be in an upright standing position for approximately 24 hours before being plug in. The freon has to travel down in the lines and it will not function properly until it does so. Locate the unit in a room temperature environment and once the unit is plugged in, it is recommended to wait another 24 hours to place food inside for the temperature to stabilize. Once the compact refrigerator is in operating mode, both the fan and compressor should be running. If it does not, then the unit may possibly have a faulty compressor, relay or sealed system issue. Because it is a smaller appliance, repairs are often more costly than the actual unit replacement because they may or may not have parts available.

My sub zero service light and EC 24 are flashing, fridge is getting warmer...suggestions?

The ec 24 alarm is from a sensor that is located behind the freezer wall and connects to the control board in the ref. When the temp gets to a certain point the sensor will trip giving the alarm. If the temperature in the freezer is gone up but is around the 20 -30 degree F range, I would remove the grate that covers the compressor and check to see if the fan is running and if the coils are dirty. Either one of those can cause temps to go up. If the fan is running and the coils are clean, Call a service company because you possibly have a sealed system issue

Freezer is not getting cold not sure if it is stuck in defrost mode

Freezer not getting cold, then defrost problem is rare, it can be compressor issue. If freezer getting cold but fridge not getting cold, then yes it can be defrost problem. The procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located.---------- But in your problem, you mentioned, in that freezer section is not stating cooling. So the compressor can be the issue. But still try reset procedure and see, if that is helping. Try manual defrost reset procedure: ---- First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again. If still the same problem, then the compressor has to be inspected.

you can get the required parts from online sites like:---

www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site.---------This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Freezer works, fridge does not. Also the sides of the fridge are really hot but not up the top near freezer section. Fridge has recently been moved. Thanks

Warm sides are usually caused by the condenser fan which is underneath around back not running. If it's not running when the compressor runs it will cause the problem you describe. You will need to remove the cardboard backing on the back of the fridge to access the fan.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

When it was moved, was it laid down? If it was it should be stood upright for 24 hours before being plugged back in.

I have an Amanda side by side, the fridge temp

Look in the freezer side for a ice buildup on the back wall.
Ice= defrost parts issue.
Check the fan in the freezer. Is it running?
Not running? Could be a defrost thermostat issue or a bad fan motor.
